WHO IS OUR GRANT LEADBITTER?

It's not just about leadership, we're short of a particular type of midfielder. Someone who'll mix it up, cover acres and just generally be horrible to play against.

The cliche is you've got to earn the right to play your game. I think that's what we're lacking against sides like Coventry. Our style is brilliant, has worked far more often than not. But when it becomes a bit more attritional, a bit more of a battle, were not so good at winning those battles and giving the flair players the freedom to play.

The best sides in the world needs those type of players, no matter how many world class playmakers they have and how attractive their football is.

How important was Fernandinho to City? Or Henderson/Fabinho to Liverpool? Or Busquets to Barcelona? Etc.

It should be a big priority IMO. Hopefully Scott and co. are all over it.
This athletic viera type player we are missing needs to be a permanent transfer not a loan

So what the consensus is, we need a bit of a brick sh*thouse, who can go box-box and also break play up......like a more physical specimen of Boateng.

And when the attritional game starts, he's first to put his foot in.

If it's anyone, I think it'll be Lenihan.

He's a huge leader for us.

Not sure anyone is up to the level of what Grant was though. He was one of our greatest signings ever, given the fact he was free.

We do need some more experience in that team. Lenihan, Smith and Howson isn't really enough. And we know Howson is 35 in a few days and Smith isn't really good enough.

Who is watching those Coventry lads celebrating on our patch and carefully bottling it up to use as motivation for next season? A la Grant standing on the Wembley turf, arms folded, scowling, surveying, plotting. Remember that. Remember what happened the season after. Who is that man now? Big Darragh? Chuba? Paddy? Perhaps we need to sign one. But this must be motivation to make sure we get it done properly next season.

Jonny Howson and he was injured. Simple.

Next question.

If its Howson he does a very good job of hiding his emotion, he comes across as the nicest man in the world and hasn't got an ounce of venom in him
Howson is a gent, but his determination to see this club succeed is beyond question.

I named him, because he broached the subject of seeing another side (Burnley) celebrating on our pitch. It got under his skin and he said it was motivation to do everything possible to ensure it didn't happen to us again.

Sadly, Jonny got no say in that because of his injury.

Just a Boateng would be amazing. Doesn't need to be more of a physical specimen, he was hard as nails. Gazza elbowed him in the head and broke his arm 😂
