Which sporting event….

I've got nothing original from what's posted above but the ones I fancy (in order) are:

Ashes Series in Oz
RWC abroad (I think I'd prefer this to a lions tour but its a close call)
NFL conference play-off (for the same reason Nano gave)
Ryder Cup
Tour de France

I've seen some great football matches with Boro and I just don't think any other matches would top it so I would branch out into other sports I enjoy that I haven't had chance to enjoy live.

That is very similar to myself. I'm not a big golf lover but do watch the Ryder Cup and the Masters, and though it would be good to go, I feel I would see more on the tele. I've watched the European International Championship Final in 1996 at Wembley and of course our own UEFA final. It would be good to see a World Cup Final but it is not on my bucket list.

I've watched England play cricket against a lot of the top teams and although the Ashes would be good to follow down under and can see why it would appeal to cricket fans, I'm not sure I would be that excited about going to see the Ashes due to 5 day Test Cricket being on a downward spiral (my favourite format of the game).

The Lions Tour to Australia in 2025 would be good to follow from start to finish, from the first game against Argentina in Dublin to the final game in Sydney against the Wallabies.

Assuming Boro are not playing in any final or anything, then probably mountain stages of the TDF.

I've been lucky enough to go to 10-15 of them, and would happily do more and more. Perhaps following the TDF around for 3 weeks, although that's probably a bit stressful negotiating the road closures and such like rather than just sitting at the side of the road getting drunk on Alpe D'Huez or wherever.

The 6 days of Ghent is a fun one for cycling fans, which is basically just sat in a velodrome getting drunk on Belgium ales.

Olympics....a day with the most track and field finals....especially the sprints or relays
Got a little story to tell. We applied for 100m final tickets at the 2012 Olympics but didn't get them. We did get tickets for an athletics morning session, a basketball session and a men's hockey session. The hockey match was GB vs Australia which ended up 3 each but the start of the 2nd half was delayed so the crowd could watch Usain Bolt win the 100m final live on the big screen

So, I’ve ticked off:

carling Cup final (Boro win)
Boxing day test MCG (& Sydney test same year)
Open Championships at Birkdale, Lytham & Sandwich
Wembley play off, Fa, League and ZdS finals (Boro came second)
World Cup semi final (Dortmund) Germany 0-2 Italy
Battle of Stamford Bridge 88
Sa v Eng test match at Newlands, Cape Town (Stokes 254, Bairstow 150no)

I love the idea of Augusta, but agree, you get more out of a tournament watching it on Sky with a few mates and a few bets running

England in a WC final and a Boro win at Wembley would be the ultimate, along with more tours watching England in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Windies

Oh, yeah, and I competed in the 2002 Cheeserolling on Coopers Hill. Lost my footing after about 3 seconds, but still finished in the top 15, without ever regaining my feet

Olympics with out a doubt. Went to 14 events over 12 days at London. Athletics Basketball Hockey Volleyball Football Weightlifting Cycling Swimming Every event was exceptional you realised that the best people in the world were competing in every event. The atmosphere in London was amazing the whole of the world was there.
Entered the ballot for Paris tickets but no success so far

We got given 2 tickets at work for the 2012 Olympics. Boss said they could go in a hat but as it got nearer and there was more hype building up around it he changed his mind and said he was having one and whoever got the other one had to go with him. Loads dropped out, including myself, as people wanted to go with their other halves, kids, mates etc. The tickets turned out to be Super Saturday😭😭

I would’ve said something like Augusta but I went to the golf last year and wasn’t that into it. You don’t see much action, big crowds around the best players etc.

The Super Bowl would be pretty spectacular I think, I enjoyed watching NFL live a lot more than I do on the tv.

Ringside for a mega heavyweight title fight as well, as long as it wasn’t in Saudi!

Surprised at how few people have said the World Cup.

I’d absolutely love to soak in a World Cup. Mainly for the fan’s atmosphere around the cities, in the bars and at the early games. Not that bothered about the final as it’s a bit too prawn sandwich but I’d love nothing more than to take a month and wander around a World Cup.

Caveat: it would have to be held somewhere good, with a culture of football and where normal fans could afford to visit. Brazil or Germany would have been the dream. Absolutely no interest in USA, Russia, Qatar, Saudi, so I guess I’m waiting until I’m 80 for it to be held somewhere decent.

I would usually agree with the Masters but after watching the Ryder Cup this year it looks more fun.

I love the NFL so I should say the Super Bowl but it's like having a cup final with no ticket allocation for the teams involved so the atmosphere seems strange for a major final. Think I'd prefer an NFC championship game at Lambeau.

If Boro could be there then any major cup final would be great. They can't be beaten. If not then a World Cup final.
I did the Ryder cup at the belfry when we won it so ticked that box….
An away Ryder cup would be a treat but the masters is just iconic so my number one

Should’ve said number two was; lions tour of New Zealand (specifically)
No3. Ashes across Oz.

No Boro fantasying in finals allowed because that would be the pinnacle for all of us surely!

Possibly a World Cup final involving England would be up there also 🤔
