Where are you going on holiday this summer?

Yep, used to work there. It's an incredible city. Excellent museums, beautiful location, food and drink.

Plenty of opportunities to take in the great outdoors too, forests, lakes etc.
The Abba Museum was one that stood out to the wife…

We’ve been looking into fitting it around a cruise, but I’d like to spend more than a day or two there I think.

I spent two days there on a Baltic cruise.

I can recommend the VASA museum ( swedens Mary Rose) but it’s pretty much intact.

Btw this it right next to the ABBA museum

Hope you had/are having a good time in Sweden @changingman and that you though Springsteen was great too. I saw him last night.

Finally witnessed Racing in the Street live. Mind blowing, his most beautiful song.

Joe Strummer said it best about RITS.

Just weekends I think, wife is a teacher so can only do school holidays, I just moved to a new job and all the companies available school holidays are booked, so it looks like we will save the money this year. It's possible we will get away in Oct half term.
Got same problem. We are going in October half term. Problem being this year it's quite late and runs into November. Most of your beach resorts shut down 31st October. Every hotel I tried in Turkey shut their pool and kids clubs 31st October. Many hotels in Canaries were the same.

We've ended up booking Egypt which wouldn't have been first choice but at least it's guarenteed weather and it's still in season. Hotel resort looks amazing and we'll barely leave it.

Whereabouts?
We had 2 weeks there last June based in a trullo on edge of Alberobello.
Well worth travelling about - some smashing little towns and beautiful countryside.
Matero (Last Bond location), Lecce walled city, Ostuni, Alberobello, Martina Franca, Monopoli all worth a visit.
Avoid Taranto.
Avoid the beaches on a weekend.
Go south to the heel for best beaches.
we had a week cycling there based in a trulli hotel place just north of locorotondo. Absolutely lovely, although most of the little towns are on top of hills so you earned your beer / icecream cyclig upto them.

Off to Italy in a few weeks. Rome, Bologna and Florence. Seeing Depeche Mode twice while we're there. It was supposed to be BoroFur going on this holiday but he's permanently banned from everything 😒

I'm on my 8th holiday of the year in Skiathos atm following Bournemouth, Wroclaw, Basel, Poznan, Isle of Man, San Sebastian and Rhodes. In 2 weeks it's Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia then a short break before Verona and Bologna. Nothing booked for August (yet) but after that it's Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan then Madagascar. Still pondering Mongolia, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan and also Zimbabwe and Botswana but they will probably have to wait until 2024

What’s it like being on the run? 😉

Not much sign of a cost of living crisis looking at this thread 😉

Some very nice locations 😎

Majorca for a week and then Dorset / Devon for a week at the back end of the summer.

Center Parcs at end of the year.

Don’t like it too toasty
so Dorset/Somerset May to August
Caribean/far east/canaries November to February
Shoulder months, various Mediterranean
We are very lucky, coupled with hard work, thrift, cunning and planning ahead.

This tour is brilliant i went to twickenham. Where are you going to see them?
Couldn't get to Twickers but this trip has been planned out for a while now. So seeing them at the Stadio Olimpico Rome, missing out Milan but following up with Stadio Renato Dall'Ara in Bologna. Then relaxing for 6 nights in Florence. Really looking forward to it!

Cheers, we were there too. Brilliant night, much further back than you though! Started in seats at the side but sound wasn't great so moved around to stand towards the back. Much better sound and great to see the full crowd.

RITS was special wasn't it?! My all time fave is Darkness... but that's a close second.

Was half tempted to stay on for Weds gig but unfortunately work and flights beckoned.

Hope you enjoyed Gothenburg, probably one of my favourite cities in the world 👍
