What's so attractive about Burnley?

Been thinking about this and can't see why Wilder would want to swap Burnley for Boro apart from money. Do you think he has been offered a massive bonus to either keep them up or get promoted next year if they are relegated. They need a massive amount of money spending on them whether they stay up or go down. Or does he think we need a lot more work than he first envisaged and it won't be easy getting us promoted next year as he and maybe us supporters first thought (certainly when we were winning all those home games and the FA Cup run?).

More money and it's a Premier League job where it only takes one or two results to keep them up and seem like the saviour.

He wants to manage in the Premier League, he's made that abundantly clear since he joined us and he's got no specific loyalty or ties to us.

Win 1-2 games with Burnley and he's there.

He needs to win 4-7 games with us to get us there.

I'll lose all respect for him if he does ditch us, but there is a logic to it.
He might well have blown it this season with us, but he can gamble on a quick job fix with Burnley and be there in a few weeks.

Shot to nothing keeping them up...if he did, bound to have a bumper bonus on his deal. If he didn't, bigger contract than he has with us and much bigger budget next year due to parachute payments.

I think he is off

I couldn’t understand it it with but then I saw this about ALK

It’s not about Burnley it’s about their new owners ALK snd the fact they also tried to to buy sheff u that is where this link is coming from.

You mean he already knows the Burnley owners and thinks he could work well with them? A bit odd when he said we were a good fit for him. Obviously not as good a fit as we thought!

No apparently they sold him some vision at Sheffield snd he really bought it.

I agree it’s utter madness but that’s the link behind this.

I slept with Burnley once and it was rubbish. I've shagged far better looking towns who were much better between the sheets then Burnley was. It was really disappointing.
Quite rough though I guess? And you probably left without staying for breakfast?

He never came to us to get in the PL this season. At the time of his coming that was very unrealistic a target. So Its not as if hes been let down.
Next season is a different matter.

I wasn't going to do it at first but it got me drunk and took advantage of me. You know what it's like after you've had a few pints mate. The whole beer goggles thing. I really regretted doing it the next morning.

We've all been there mate. Well, maybe not as bad as Burnley, but certainly Blackburn

Parachute payments are a big draw. To me it gives you around a 50% chance of bouncing back.

Burnley are 2/5 to be relegated so it looks likely they will go down about 70% chance so you have to look to next season realistically.

The disadvantages of going are if it did not work out at Burnley (so get sacked by them within 18 months), he will have a stain on his character that future clubs will look at and think, can we trust him.

If he did go we would receive decent financial compensation as he is under contract.

I want him to stay he's started a job now at the Boro and we are a very good match, the Boro offered him a decent opportunity to suceed I hope he reciprocates. It is believed he could have gone to Norwich in November, but chose the Boro and Norwich are similar to Burnley. We have more stable ownership, better academy and slightly bigger potential than Burnley (ignoring parachute payments) without been too Geordiesque my belly is bigger than yours etc. We are improving too over the last 3 years with a good number of promising youngish players.

Win 2 games for Burnley & they could still be relegated if other results go against them, win 7 games at the Boro & he's acheived his goal

I think Burnley need 36 points to say up - that's 11 points (3 wins and 2 draws, 2 defeats) its tough when they only have 25 points all this season (from 31 games)

Which is something I'm hoping he's considering, as I really don't want him to leave.

Either way, I'll be cheering on Everton tonight.

3 wins from 4 could get us in the play offs. (Swansea, Cardiff, Stoke and Preston)

We won the play offs in 1988 after winning 2 of our 4 games.
