It’s def not BS wilders reaction Confirms that there is something there the question is how much is there and what happens next

but there is def a link and something that isn’t quite right st the mo.

No apparently they sold him some vision at Sheffield snd he really bought it.

I agree it’s utter madness but that’s the link behind this.
That does look like the source of all this. I've been pretty sceptical but possibly the Burnley owners thought they had an informal agreement with Wilder or that they could bounce him and Boro into an appointment. Seems reasonably clear that something could have happened last summer with Dyche moving on and Wilder moving in but didn't. One of their proxies will have contacted people to say "Wilder is coming." Wilder himself is either complicit in this or caught up in it. His behaviour indicates to me that he didn't expect this and now is caught in a trap.

At the moment it seems to me that Gibson is simply not going to let Wilder leave which is why the slightly odd formulation of words was given to Gibson's contacts. The club is "relaxed" and that no approach has been made. If Burnley make an approach then Gibson will simply say no. If there is a big enough breakdown in the relationship between Wilder and Gibson then I would expect a parting of the ways after the season ends.

If this is true it is all incredibly disappointing. Gibson has always been fair with managers; he's never stood in someone's way but he has demanded that they play fair with him. If someone (McLaren, Monk) goes behind his back he is ruthless. If Wilder is complicit in this (and I don't think he is) then he's out in the summer and getting hit for a breach of contract. If the Burnley owners are trying to bounce Wilder then he stays but he's going to have to work hard to regain Gibson's confidence as well as the club and fanbase.

Been thinking about this and can't see why Wilder would want to swap Burnley for Boro apart from money.
Do you think they do ot for anything else? 🤔
IF he gets deal it'd be linked with MASSIVE incentives to get them promoted next year
If you believe the press Dyches severance is close to £15 million!
All about the money.

The reason I've just been messing about on this thread is because I think all of the hysteria on here these last few days has been ridiculous. Chances are that it's all just made up media b*llshit. Some people are really overreacting to a few rumours. And even if I'm wrong and there is something in these rumours and Wilder goes, then so what? If he'd rather be somewhere else then I don't want him here. Some people just need to calm down a bit.

But it’s clearly not though

as I say I think he’ll stay but there is a story here wilders own sheepish reaction confirms that. Local papers ( not national) don’t got this public about their own patch without something behind it. Plus look at how quiet the club have been.

As I say I think he’ll stay it I def think he’s been tapped up.

It’s not media hype.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. You could interpret what Wilder said in loads of ways. Personally I think he was just annoyed after a defeat and peed off about them asking him that question and he didn't want to answer it. He wanted to talk about the game. I've worked in journalism mate. Believe me, there is an awful lot of b*llshit and spin around sometimes. That's why I got out of it as quickly as I could.

And the days since the game? No comment offered? He has had plenty of time and has chosen not to nail the rumours

Like I said there could be any number of reasons for that. This is all just speculation and rumours at the moment and I'm not going to get all worked up about that like some people seem to be. The only thing that bothers me is that a lot of the younger players live on social media and will have read all of this stuff and it could unsettle them and put them off their game. If he goes he goes. We'll move on. We always do.

And how do you end speculation and rumour? By addressing them- and to date this hasn’t happened

Maybe he just thinks that she shouldn't have to? I'm not going to get in to an argument with you here mate. I'm just saying it as I see it.

And - with respect- I think you are wrong. There is a basic etiquette here that is being totally disregarded- frankly, the least we deserve is for clarity- something missing in a very large way
Agree to disagree then mate. I'll worry about it if or when it happens. Right now I'm not that bothered. I have more important things to worry about. And those things are definitely real and not just rumours.

The reality is lads we can all give our views and opinions on here but the only one that knows the real truth is wilder.
He may have given the whole thing very little thought in terms of the speculation. Fans want assurance, I wonder if this has actually really occurred to him or if he just sees speculation as part of the job. There may be an instruction from the club in the next press conference that he needs to comment more clearly
