What's so attractive about Burnley?

The reason I've just been messing about on this thread is because I think all of the hysteria on here these last few days been ridiculous. Chances are that it's all just made up media b*llshit. Some people are really overreacting to a few rumours. And even if I'm wrong and there is something in these rumours and Wilder goes, then so what? If he'd rather be somewhere else then I don't want him here. Some people just need to calm down a bit.
Yes the bookies have him odds on favourite just because of media b+llshit

I couldn’t understand it it with but then I saw this about ALK

It’s not about Burnley it’s about their new owners ALK snd the fact they also tried to to buy sheff u that is where this link is coming from.
So this hedge fund wanted to buy Sheff United whilst Wilder was there? I have to say ai find the link a bit tenuous. I can’t imagine Wilder had any communication

As for ALK Burnley fans are not enamoured with them as they haven’t invested big sums. There an interesting thread here below. ALK have loaded up the Club with massive debt. I believe that stands at £60m but is growing. Relegation would be a disaster. Those who think Burnley can suddenly pay Wilder a massive salary I think are off the mark.

Yeah, agree I posted a couple of similar articles yesterday making the same point. It would be mad as the parachute money would be invested in servicing the ever increasing debt.

Bookies managerial odds are usually a bit dodgy, I wouldn't read too much into it, often someone not even mentioned previously will suddenly appear as favourite. They are giving very short odds though on 5his occasion

The bookies have him as favourite because somebody has put a lot of money on it. It means nothing. I could put a lot of a money on you becoming the next Burnley manager right now and then those odds would change immediately.

I would have thought if Burnley wanted Wilder to keep them up, it would have had to have been a quick move, Dyche gone Wilder in within a day or two. Hasn't happened, games are fast running out, Burnley look all but down.
So next season. As rightly pointed out Burnley could be knackered financially if/when they go down as their owners have loaded them with a decent amount of debt. Their good players will be off, and while this helps the finances, doesn't help them on the pitch. And with the greatest respect to Burnley it's not going to be the most attractive destination for new players unless they pay daft money. So unlike, say, Fulham who kept the squad together, got a good manager, bought some quality players (and are in a nice part of the country) Burnley on the face of it could be right on the edge of the abyss. Strange situation, just needs clearing up. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Yup, this. If it was going to happen it would probably have been lined up before Dyche went. Beyond that there is no rush they can choose who to go with at the end of the season.

As for stopping the rumours a denial would do no such thing. You'd still have people saying "no smoke without fire" etc. It might even increase the speculation. Once speculation starts it is virtually impossible to stop. I'm sure Wilder will be asked about it at this week's presser, and I'm equally sure we'll get the party line "there has been no contact".

If he goes it will be annoying but there you go, we move on. RF knock together a new catchy ditty and in six months time it'll be "Chris who?"
