What has Farage got on this government

It's sickening how much airtime he is being given on mainstream TV and Radio over this. He knows exactly what he is doing, getting plenty of publicity and stirring the pot, rilling up his likeminded followers in advance of a General Election year.

My twitter feed is full of rentagobs frothing at the mouth somehow suggesting that someone being denied a bank account at private bank Coutts because they don't have the coin is another step on the ladder to totalitarianism.
 
The same people arguing that Farrage should be entitled to a Coutts account are normally the same ones defending the cake company who refused to make a gay wedding cake as "an individuals choice, and to force them to make it would be communism".

One is a business deciding that they dont wish to be associated with a particular customer because they dont agree with their views, whereas the other is errrr exactly the same.

It’s a bit of a conundrum of course
Because, people like me.. who are delighted he got booted out because of his values found the gay wedding cake fiasco challenging.
 
Reece-Mogg, Sunak, his wife and others will have tens of millions from dodgy sources banked and are taking action to ensure their banks can't potentially cause them to be exposed to the light of day.
 
Watching from the sidelines I initially thought it couldn’t happen to a more deserving person. After some thought I now think exactly the same …

But in seriousness, companies like coutts can not be allowed to show such discrimination.. for me they can give whoever they want, accounts… but if they’re silly enough to document the reason as political leanings then they deserve the negative publicity…

Over, though, this is well down on the everyday persons priorities but lines need to be drawn…

That coupled with the expensive AML checks that need to be done for a Politically Exposed Person (which he is) to ensure that the money is from legitimate sources - the commercial viability of his account changed when his mortgage was paid off and those checks were not worth the money the bank would make from Farrage.
