What has Farage got on this government

Nigel plays the only roll he’s the master of. The victim. Tory mp’s kick off…Sunak told he should do something. Gov owns 39% of Nat West. Sunak tells the lady from the bank to apologise. Job done, the greased pig slides away. Again.
I've never played a roll, but I did play a chocolate eclair once in a school play when I was about six.

'P1: from 2022 "NF currently has a mortgage with Coutts, which is due to expire in July 2023 and which, on a commercial basis, we would not look to renew and so would suggest winding down the connection on that basis."

P8: "Although he does not align with our views, is likely to be the same for a number of the bank’s customers."They recommend keeping him DESPITE his views but the next part of the memo discussion is interesting...

On realising Farage will be under criteria, and they have no commercial reason to maintain him

P:9 "It is likely that NF would perceive a decision to exit him as ‘unfair’ and he would almost certainly use his public platform to communicate this dissatisfaction."Prescient'

They really have declared war with those two things, donations and unionists assets.
Having been PM for less than a year he can’t fight on his record, and certainly doesn’t want to go back to the previous two or three. They’re really going to ramp it up.

Just listened to an hour long debate on radio about all this. Farage is one hell of a polarising character but a focus for many a people’s admiration for reasons I will never fathom.

Well it looks like the grifting racist has achieved what his paymasters want. The tories have an excuse to try and roll back money laundering requirements on banks.

If I were the CEO of another commercial or private bank similar to Coutts, I'd be handing out photos of Farage and instructions saying 'do not serve this man, he's not worth it'

I find ‘admiration’ a bit tricky too
I’m not sure what the word is though for someone who focussed on one thing and got it done despite all the odds.

There is an obvious 4 letter word beginning with ‘C’

But, in the interests of fairness - it was some achievement

I have no time for Farage, he is largely responsible for where we find ourselves today as a second-tier country with less opportunities and poorer than before he appeared. However, as a few pundits have said, unfortunately, on this one he has been able to make capital because he had some grounds to do so. I don't buy the guff about being entitled to bank with Coutts, they are a private company and should be able to deal with however they like, within legal constraints but the Coutts management are clearly incompetent and the CEO had to go as soon as she admitted talking about a customers business with them to a journalist.

"despite all the odds" is doing some very heavy lifting there.

Like the IEA and The Tax Payers Alliance, Farage has been given unprecedented exposure on the BBC over the years.

The Tories are wary of Farage. But have got behind him on this confrontation because it possibly serves a purpose in their election agenda. Really for them he’s nothing more than a
useful idiot.
