What has been your most ‘rock and roll’ moment?

For me it is one of two things…

1. Going to see Radiohead in London the day before we were going to Glastonbury.

2. Getting a lift back to our accommodation in the tour bus in Cleveland, Ohio with the roadies after going to see Sleaford Mods.

Rocknrollmomentstastic 👍👍👍

2 for me too

Went to see REM in the 90’s in Manchester.
Booked hotel really early.

Returned to our hotel to find it cordoned off.
The band had booked out the rest of the hotel apart from the 2 rooms we had booked.

In the bar just me, my mate and our partners, the band members and a few hangers on.
I went all star struck whilst my partner had chats with most of them.
Stipe took a pic of us

Last year went to the Old City of Carcassonne to see Dylan.
Went out to sit in the local bar for a mid afternoon swiftie and all the band members were there. Had a lovely chant with them.

Drinking pints in the Gifford Arms, Wolverhampton, with Whitfield Crane, after an Ugly kid Joe gig. Then singing and staggering down the road together back to our hotels.

Sitting having a beer with Dean Ford (God rest his soul) in a Greek restaurant in Bedford. Lovely fella.

I’m going to answer for @Littlejimmy too: it’s got to be singing the lead vocal on Africa to thousands of people at the proms in Castle Howard, surely?

Going to see Muse with a mate who knew Matt Bellamys brother. Ended up at their after show party in a hotel, drinking with the band and Joe Root.

Not much of a r & R moment but getting up on stage at the Hammersmith Apollo London during a Flaming Lips gig and jinking around to a number of Wayne's ditties - dressed in a rabbit costume. 2003 to be precise

Getting asked to go to the after show party after a Bunnymen gig in Liverpool and hanging out with Will Sergeant - a tad grumpy.

Ordering a drink at a hotel bar in Antwerp about 20 years ago when a lady orders a coffee next to me, I look and it is Chrissie Hynde - gorgeous and charming.

Boarding a flight at Manchester airport and Ian Brown is next to me in the queue - a great sport and very down to earth.

Probably three for me, not sure they quite reach the heights of Finny above though!

Sharing a drink with Sean Lennon and his girlfriend at End of the Road festival
Jamming (very loosely) with Pete Doherty
Selling Alice Cooper a pair of Lonsdale trainers

Calling Preston from the Ordinary Boys a ****** backstage at Stockton International Fringe Festival

Smoking with Chris Sievey and being allowed to wear his Frank Sidebottom head (same festival)

Probably, yes. It was a little less rock and roll because the microphone was so low and I wasn't allowed to touch it so had to bend forward to sing into it. No swinging it by the lead round my head! It helped my nerves a bit too, not being able to see the crowd properly.

My other one would be meeting my favourite band in HMVin Manchester, namely Jim and Charlie from Simple Minds. I felt like a bit of a bumbling fan boy though, to be honest, but they were lovely!

who was doing the loose jamming - you or Pete 😂

Sounds great to me

Two others spring to mind

Got drunk with John Martyn in Crouch End in the 80’s - he’d had about 8 hours start on the beer but still outlasted me

And, totally unrelated, he passed me a joint when I was sat in the front row of a gig in Aylesbury

I would have loved to see you do a Roger Daltrey with the microphone! Steve’s face would have been a picture!!

What had he done?
I remember his prima Donna moment storming off a Never Mind The buzzcocks

I'd love to think that I've had 'Rock and Roll' moments but in the cold light of day they've merely amounted to me hanging outside of venues and soundchecks insisting that band members have their photographs taken with me.

I've said enough :ROFLMAO:

I think I've seen that photograph.

Is that you in the corner?

Haha bit of both, he was very much the worse of wear but could still outplay me comfortably :)

Really good bloke actually.

In a posh restaurant in restaurant in Paris. Went to toilet which were done out like a boudoir.
Coming out into the communal room Grace Jones in front of the mirror fixing her lipstick. Told her I liked her music…beaming smile and a real thank you. Talked a bit and went back.
Had breakfast with Lou Reed in a hotel in Brussels. Actually the only seat left at a table for two. The Torhout festival was on room was packed with muso’s and crew. He grunted at me as I sat down….not a word passed between
Though years later when Laurie Anderson curated the Meltdown Festival and she obviously had hubby Lou on the gig. My mate who worked for Lou at that time forced me into being a drum roadie for Lou’s lot. He didn’t remember our breakfast encounter.
