What are you realistically expecting from our League Cup run?

We've had a lot of luck with draw so far, all away games but against easier opposition, now there's no easy game left.
Just hope it's not another Brighton performance, where we were torn apart.

The three Premiership teams remaining will all want to play us, hopefully we play well and have a real go, we have nothing to lose so might as well go for it .

Already exceeded my hopes so, if I have one wish is that we play the semi at home first. If we take a whuppin at Anfield, Stamford Bridge or wherever I don't want to be traipsing along to the Riverside to watch us "try to overturn" a 4-0+ drubbing.
This was similar to my post last night. I would be buzzing to get the Riverside rocking for another big Semi Final. If we are away first, there's every chance the tie is over before we even get it back to the Riverside.

But, then today, as I thought about the chance of actually landing some tickets for the away leg, the prospect of traipsing to Stamford Bridge trying to overturn a 3 goal deficit seemed less appealing than trapsing to the Riverside..

A valiant defeat over the two legs - let’s be honest here, we have had a pretty easy run of games to get this far. I guess winning over two legs is possible if we play to our best and get some luck going our way, but the players we are coming up against this time are going to be on a different level to most of ours

That was the case in 1998. 2-1 down but with an all important away goal.

Not sure I expected us to get through but we were 3-2 up very early in the second leg thanks to Branca/Merson.

Probably have to be honest though and say we don’t really have players of that quality this time round.
If we did then they'd be on the treatment table anyway.
