What are you realistically expecting from our League Cup run?

We have exceeded my expectations. I would now like us to at least still be in with a chance in the 2nd leg.
Probably won't go any further but I thought that when stood celebrating at Spurs and the announcer telling us we had Arsenal in the semi's so fingers crossed.

Its raised our profile which could help with recruitment in 11 days time.

The cash from two semi final legs will hopefully give is some funds for January too.

Lenihan and Smith out for the season means we need at least two January signings/loans. We took on three last season and I can see that as a minimum this season.

Who ever we get in the semis it will be very difficult to progress as there are 3 top half Premier League teams who want to get to the Final.

How do televised games pay in the EFL Cup?
Mind you if Look North have their way our semi-final won't be televised.

The winner of the EFL Cup gets about £100,000.

The entire 5 year deal for the entirety of the EFL is only £935m in the next cycle.

It'll probably be a million or less, if that, which is still a decent chunk considering we could be getting nothing.

You’ll make much more than that, just for having the game. Even allowing for Gibson’s point that he only makes about a tenner a ticket 30,000 is £300,000. And some of them drink beer so that must be about half a million.

And the answer to the first question is that I expect we win the b****d. I’m not going to call for anyone to be lynched if we don’t, but we’re in the last four. Don’t supporters aspire to something a bit special anymore?

Realism and Aspiration are quite different words - aren't they?

I aspire to win too.

Three decent loan players would be very useful and thats maybe something we can now do, that we couldn't afford before the Port Vale game.

Chelsea - home leg - my guesses

30,500 - £20 average ticket price is £615,000

Other fan purchases say £7 times 31,500 is £220,500 (Food and drink, programme, merchandise, stadium car parking)

Commercial boxes/packages etc - £150,000 (1,000 fans @ £150)

Sponsors/advertising revenue for this game - £300,000

SkyTV/Radio money - £800,000 - the new Sky Broadcasting deal Sky are paying around £10m per Premier League game, but I think they have overseas rights.

Overseas Broadcasts - ?

Carabao Sponsors money - ?

There are costs putting on a game.

I am happy for others opinions.

You never know in football.

If Chelsea underestimate us and start cold then on our day we are capable of scoring 2 or 3 quick goals. Whether we would hang on over 2 legs is another question.

Then if we did and got to the final then anything could happen.

I have zero expectations.
