We've accepted a bid of £12m for Tav

Interesting to see what Bournemouth fans make of the potential signing. I think he’s worth more to us than them? He will be a squad player, maybe he’ll be back on loan next season? This provides an opportunity for one of our squad players to step up…Boyd Munce or Gibson perhaps, as unlikely we’ll get a replacement in for the start of the season.

Let's see what happens.
Spence and Tav cost us nothing and we are selling them on for more than 24 million.
It's just two players.
It's either going to go horrendously wrong or we could be looking at some genius decisions from our club.
🤔

Who was it who put on that note a few weeks ago mentioning the future ins and outs? So far a lot of what was written seems to be correct. One thing it did say was that if Tav goes we want Ben Pearson as a replacement. With Bournemouth already having Pearson, Lewis Cook, David Brooks, Jefferson Lerma, Ryan Christie, Emiliano Mercondes, Junior Stanislas, Philip Billing and Joe Rothwell they may let Pearson go?

Let’s not exaggerate the numbers here. It’s looking like payments totalling 22.5m over a period of time plus some possible wishful add-ons.

Hopefully we now can utilize a free kicker that puts the ball under the crossbar rather than over it.
Oh yes... Forgot we've lost our 'setplay specialist' 😂

I've don't nothing but moan about him leaving. Yet hopefully someone steps up and improves the delivery.

Can't understand the logic of selling Tav and for a relatively low fee - people doing these deals are out of touch and have their own agenda.
Yes, their agenda is “the long term survival of the club”, not “keeping all our best players and also making a bunch of big name signings”.

Obviously disappointing to lose one of our better players so close to the start of the season, but that’s the nature of a club our size that has been bankrolled by one individual for decades. The owner’s agenda has to be different to what the fans agenda is.

Marcus has generated a minimum of £10m profit to add to the £12.5m minimum profit that MFC will make on Spence.
That has massive FFP ramifications. That £22.5m will show as Profit in this season's P&L and FFP.

I am disappointed the club could not get more for either, but its clear there was no bidding war for either player.
I hope both lads do well at their new clubs and we get the £10m add ons.

I am also disappointed at the timing of the Tav sale, so close to the season starting.
It is crystal clear that the club need 3 good strikers (Forss likely to be one of them)
They also need a LCB, a DCM and now an AM.

The good news is that they have the budget to do it and FFP scope to do it. This is now without question.
5 more players on top of Forss, including 3 loans, means we have scope to permanently sign 2 very good players.

The question is will Gibson go for it?
I still think he will.

Tavernier is a good player, but I would not be pleased if we were the ones paying £10m plus £2.5m add ons for him, rather than receiving it.
We won't miss Spence, he was not in our team.
We will miss Tav, but if we use the budget well, we will be better off for that deal too.

Good luck and thanks Tavernier (y)
Crack on Gibson and get the quality in.
Tav was nailed on hard work, commitment and quality. Let's go out and spend that money on Britt Assombalonga.

Trying to be positive-

12 million £ 👍
We might actually be a threat from free kicks and corners this season.
A good engine/stamina is far easier to replace than goals/assists.
This has been rumoured for weeks so presumably the club have decided on replacement. Hopefully not too long until incoming midfielder.

I’m definitely in a minority but he wasn’t even our best midfielder last season (Howson was) so I think we’ll survive.

Any pro player that cant kick a dead ball close to goal should not be at pro level. Any one in the team can match Tavs free kick record

This is true. But then they're not trying to just kick a dead ball close to the goal. They're trying to do it with pace and dip and to very specific areas. Which is a lot harder to do and why mistakes are made.

I really hope the club have some midfielders imminently lined up as replacements.

One injury and we have no options.

We're now weaker in the midfield and up front with only 2 days before the first game of the season.

I’ve heard we may be in for Daniel Barlaser from Rotherham. Decent all round Central midfielder but not the quickest.
