We still need 6 new players to come in!

By my reckoning.

Goalkeeper

Left sided defender

2 wide men

2 strikers

So numerically more than the number of signings currently made. Tall order. My fear is as we near opening day a sense of desperation will ensue with the desire to get a squad together in the numbers necessary. No doubt some of the faithful amongst us will issue the no need to panic. Panic? No. Concern? Absolutely. Some of our signings to date hardly set the pulses racing…..

Can you stick up a list of who Cardiff have released and we'll sort the wheat from the chaff.

Last season our striker situ was certainly not good enough to sustain a promotion challenge and if anything it is now worse. Getting someone up front who will score goals in the Championship quickly is vital, but then we and NW have known this for yonks.

I'd agree strikers are what we need (and some more pace/width). Whilst more keeper/defence cover would be nice I think we could limp along for a bit without it if we pick up some niggling injuries, but goals win games and we won't be up the top end of the league without them. We really need more threat in the final third, out wide and up top. That should be our main priority for me.

I'm concerned but not panicked just yet though. Until Prem squads are submitted the loan market is dead but usually kicks to life after that. So potentially one or two could come in after that on loan.

Defo need 2 strikers, coburn can be cover too, also be happy with 1 left winger and a left back . Think we can cope until January transfer window if we trust in our youth a bit more like sivi, jones, brynn, et al. Also sign bamba until january i lets see how he gets on.

Tbh I’d rather give the youngsters chance to build up experience and play 30 plus games rather than bring in journeymen that are somewhere on the list. We’ve got enough wide players, Wood, Brynn, Colburn and Coulson.

Realistically 5 of them could be loans from the prem.. potentially a MASSIVE boost for us.

meanwhile:
GK: Andy Lonergan
DF: Kean Bryan and/or Ciaron Brown
RW: Jed Wallace
LW: Nick Powell
ST: Michael Smith
ST: Josh Maja

We might just be a Ciaron Brown away from our starting squad to face Fulham. (along with Payero confirmation)

It's frightening. Desperately short upfront and out wide. Don't even need this Payero bloke yet he's coming in. For as many years as I can remember now, we still don't look like we'll score any goals. Too one paced. Warnock will be gone by November.

Jeepers!

I for one think we’ll do Fulham over in our first game. We look too much of a handful (on paper at least) Morsy and Crookes in midfield looks naughty and who’s marking Ikpeazu?

Our defence was solid last season and we had the core of a promotion winning team.. we’ve improved on that. Sure we have a few strikers to bring in but we had no one last season either. Fletcher was injured and Britt was.. lazy, idle, inefficient, ineffective..

Morsy and Crookes look very slow for a midfield pairing. Even York showed them up.

13th in the table of most conceded goals - so not that great, Newy!
