Warnock out brigade - Sense of entitlement?

THEORY:

Gibbo appointed Woodgate because he wanted to play a brand of attacking football and saw an up and coming young manager as the way to do it. Woodgate obviously failed and Gibbo had to turn to the experience and pragmatism of Warnock to avoid relegation.

Gibbo's plan of playing more attacking football never went away, and the appointment of Scott and the transition of the squad into a more attacking "footballing" squad is a continuation of this - but Gibbo decided to stick with Warnock as he knew he'd have the experience and pragmatism to keep us away from the relegation places while the transition continued.

At the end of this season, with a new manager aligned with the new plan, and another transfer window or two to complete the transition the intention is to see the new-look Boro ready to mount a challenge next year. Warnock will remain (unless things get really bad) as an "insurance policy" to ensure we comfortably stay in the league while we complete the transition. If he had us competing at the top it would be seen as an added bonus.

Possibly correct or a load of hogwash?

my only worry with that is that is that Fry and Tavernier will be gone in the summer if we don't go up, so even more of a job to do

to be fair they both need to go as neither of them are good enough.
Don't be silly, Tav had a poor game at the weekend, but he has been consistently one of our best players for a couple of years. Fry, still has room to improve, and needs to start to physically impose, he's good enough with better players around him and a liability when he's surrounded by crap

Think Fry has been poor this season - part of our soft centre at the back that had been exposed time and time again. Some very average forwards have turned Fry inside out this season and he is looking anything but a EPL centre back. Tav continues to frustrate with his lack of consistency. Plays in flashes in games but has only had one or two good 7 out of 10 games for me. Of course being shifted to play at right back by the Manager doesn’t help. Would be no more devastated to see either of them go anymore than the rest of our squad.

Everyone is welcome to their opinion however it is very hard to disagree with my analysis. Hence why it is in the best interests to change things now.
Well my analysis is that even with an injection of expertise and considerable moolah, chances of promotion this time around are virtually nil so there is no point in spending money on a caretaker or throwing away a long term plan just to keep a few panicking supporters "happy".

We won't go down, we won't go up. Next season will be a different team in charge, hopefully with a long term plan to build for success. Perhaps we'll even be good to watch (I'm a dreamer, shoot me)! We'll see.

Muttley seriously how can you be sure we won’t go down ? 20th out of 24 in the last 6 games, this is little better than relegation form. Simply, we need to start winning - I’m not convinced the team/ squad are fully motivated to achieve this.

But it is better.

Seriously, I think we will be safely midtable by Christmas, call it a hunch. That said if we are bottom six at Christmas THAT will be the time to ditch NW. I am convinced that we will not go up and I don't think the bookies will be overwhelmed with punters taking that bet. The top teams look far too strong to catch even now. So changing the manager now has no potential benefit and could jeopardise long/medium term plans. I'm no fan of NW never have been but let's just keep our powder dry.

We need to disagree. If the criticism of players by him continues the likelihood of them not putting in a shift will increase. Goodness knows the performances cite this could be happening now.

I just can’t see the point in continuing what is a lame duck management structure that is not helping us move forwards.

Can we have a few days break from the criticism in the unlikely case of a win tonight?
No, although we were professional and took our chances, we were still second best for spells of the game, a better quality side would have caused us issues. Fair play on the result tonight, but I didn't lose faith in Warnock after one defeat and I won't regain faith after 1 win

Credit where it's due as always, that was a good team performance against a team that will be there or thereabouts this season. We were reasonably solid and had a plan, two strikers on the pitch working the defenders hard and being a handful. It's all we want as Boro fans. More of that please!
