Warnock’s comments on potential signings

No, not a word. Have a watch of his signing video.

Not that it matters much, he’ll pick up football-ese pretty fast and there’s so many examples of players not speaking any of the language. Argentinians aren’t shrinking violets with their mentality too, they’re as tough as they come - he’ll be fine.

Will be easier for him with Leo around though and am a little surprised the club haven’t got him a liaison officer for the bit inbetween, he’s a big investment and it would cost buttons to bring in a Spanish speaker for a few weeks. Maybe they have, who knows.

Yeah, I think I've mixed that up with Sporar. Agree entirely. I'm excited by him and think we'll have an asset on our hands in time and I also think there should be some sort of liaison officer. Perhaps Leo wanted that role. I would imagine Leo is having him as a guest most days and nights.

Definitely Sporar - see below:

On me ead son

It maybe brutel but I've seen nothing to overly suggest Payero should be starting? I think the manager probably knows best.

He genuinely looks off the pace. So why throw him in? I'm not writing him off or having a pop. Just saying he doesn't look ready.

The way people are going it's like we ain't playing Messi😂. It could be next season before we see the best of him.

Why sign a player who is not ready ? Who's sanctioned this? Money is tight so investing in a project doesn't make much sense ?
Edit - he had been playing for Argentina in the olympics so he is fit enough , and you would have thought , talented enough to go straight in . Is it NW making his point that MP was not his choice .

Just reading up on some of warnock’s comments today regarding signings:

on signing players from the continent - “I have to be honest, I wouldn't really want more than two from the continent, because to integrate them like Martin takes a few months, are you with me?” “I prefer lads that I know will do it in the Championship.”

on van Bergen - “if we are, it’s nowt to do with me”

I’ve cut and paste from Twitter so not sure what context they we were made but they seem to be a couple of stupid comments, the club’s planning for the future with the signings they are trying to make but does this hint that Warnock wants to go in a different direction or is he just playing cool? Could this be another season of transition if so rather than a push for promotion?
It makes sense not bring in too many players who may take a while to adjust. I think it’s encouraging that he’s speaking this way tbh., it sounds very much like we’re aiming for promotion this season.

As far as being tight lipped and cagey on new players coming in.. seems fair enough. We do have a recruitment team and the turnover of players has been quite significant. Warnock had identified areas we need to fill and has no doubt identified certain players he wants to bring in. It wouldn’t surprise me if Warnock has identified areas which we have not been able to fill domestically and so the recruitment are just doing their job.

It’s easy to read too much into these sorts of things.. more than likely it’s just everybody doing their job.

How much would it cost to employ an interpreter? Honestly at times that club. At least until Leo is out of isolation you surely have someone who can speak his language to help him settle.
We should hire the one Leeds have, then that would have the bonus of F***ing them up. How are they going to play their pre-fab football if the only instructions they get are from a man on a bucket mumbling spanish into the floor.

I really don’t get the hype with Bielsa. Saw in a poll recently he was rated the 6th best manager in the Premiership… not sure how that’s justified.

Well he's the band that isn't very popular but influenced the ones that are popular. So when everyone else is saying how great nirvana are you can say you prefer mudhoney or the pixies and people will think you are a special person, with exclusive information and a VIP pass to the club.
