Warnock’s comments on potential signings

Just reading up on some of warnock’s comments today regarding signings:

on signing players from the continent - “I have to be honest, I wouldn't really want more than two from the continent, because to integrate them like Martin takes a few months, are you with me?” “I prefer lads that I know will do it in the Championship.”

on van Bergen - “if we are, it’s nowt to do with me”

I’ve cut and paste from Twitter so not sure what context they we were made but they seem to be a couple of stupid comments, the club’s planning for the future with the signings they are trying to make but does this hint that Warnock wants to go in a different direction or is he just playing cool? Could this be another season of transition if so rather than a push for promotion?

If it's a recommendation from Scott then I would go with that. Norwich have found some absolute gems in recent years so we have to trust him. Especially if it's not going to be big money.

From where we were with Pulis to where we are now with players who aren’t much better IMO I believe it’s what I expected. This is a two to three year makeover project and is backed up by bringing in a director of football so we shouldn’t get too embroiled in “are we going to get to the playoffs” as I don’t see it. Nonetheless I do see progress from the standpoint of Jones, Tav, Watmore and maybe Ikpeazu who will keep us in the hunt for a top half finish.

I agree, I don’t know the timescale but he won’t see out his tenure.

This. Anything he says in an after match prezzer you have to take with a massive pinch of salt. Thats Warnock for me.

His impulsive nature means he says things which I an sure he often wishes he hadn't said.

After listening to his comments I thought he was ***ed off about there being a problem with sporar deal after saying there wasnt at yesterday's press. Kinda like throwing his toys out the pram because he was out the loop on that one and his remark about the Dutch kid meaning the deal is nothing to do with him because the recruitment team dont tell him anything about what is going on, rather than it being a dig at the player.

I'm sure Warnock isnt that stubborn that he would refuse to use a player because he didnt personally recruit him if he was performing. You dont get promoted 9 times by being that petty.
