Unacceptible "Paedo" and offensive chants / behaviour at MFC / SAFC Game

I spoke with the Boro Chief Executive today about the Sunderland chants. He understood how offensive this is. The club should be making contact with Sunderland.Rob's taken it on board now, so be interesting to be informed of what happens next.
I think these things will just gradually die out.
Like has been said above, it’s not the same as racism in the stands. Calling Boro fans paedos, or us calling any southern team a town full of rent boys - it’s not directed at individuals and I don’t imagine any individual takes it personally. It’ll just be one of those things that dies a death over the next 5 years

If our fans had been on it like Chelsea.. no one would have heard them. If our team had not conceded.. no one would have cared.
All this manufactured faux outrage only feeds into the daft doyle’s that spout this garbage.
The only thing that keeps it alive it the reactions to it.. stuff like this thread and the forthcoming club statement
As a club we have been officially admonished from the FA over the rent boy chants and can be fined. We have to explain what actions are taken to prevent the chanting

Not persuaded by any of that to be honest, it's either right or wrong and suggesting that some behaviour should be tolerated more because it's less wrong is a flimsy arguement.

Almost 40 years has passed since the Wyatt and Higgs child sexual abuse fiasco. It has been proven to be a totally flawed process and both doctors involved were discredited for their "assumptions" which caused the hurt and heartache for many innocent families.
So, no, it will not be forgotten by those up the A19 in 5 years and just peter out. Something needs to be done, by the governing authorities and agencies responsible for taking action.

We were once goaded by a group of geordies from the City Centre up to St James's park where they were constantly calling us kiddy fiddlers. Went on for a good 10-15 mins where eventually my mate warned them if they said one more time he was gonna "take his head clean off".
Anyway, at this point the offending geordie pointed at a child who was walking past with his dad, probably about 7 year old, and started going "ooooo, I bet you'd love a go of him wouldn't ya".
It was too far. Concluded with my mate following through his threat and dropping this lad with one good solid right and got a 2 year banning order for his troubles,
It genuinely makes me sick that they get away with this crap.

Surely then, the same should apply to Sunderland.
The video showing them shouting it to our fans is terrible.
A lot of those people are middle aged and not just young-uns that have had too much to drink.
Personally, I'd ban their support from our ground for the next match - and if it happened the next time they came then I'd ban the lot of them again, and keep.doing that until they realised it won't be accepted.
If Sunderland took action and banned the ones identifiable on that video, then I'm pretty sure it would deter the others from doing it again.

Is that on a par with the paedo chants that were sang by Sunderland fans? It might well be.

No, two totally different things. There will be abuse victims in the crowd, home and away end. I doubt there was any mackems still traumatised from the time they were set alight by a Teessider. Having said that, knowing what Ayresome Park was like, I couldn't be sure

You can't , but even via their own forum, they had a "different demographic than they would of for reading away " on Sunday.
