UK stag do ideas

Folks I need your help!

As best man for an up and coming wedding I have the given task of planning the stag do. The wedding was originally scheduled for last year and as such I booked up for Frankfurt,Germany. That had to be cancelled as restrictions came into place, and now with foreign travel up in the air (excuse the pun) I've decided to stay British.

So my question for you all is: avoiding lots of the obvious stag do cliches, what can you recommend which is fun, a laugh, and maybe a bit different?

The stag is into his outdoor kind of hobbies, but the invited group have a complete mix of interests.

Thanks in advance!

Do what the stag would enjoy. Balls to the rest of em. So if he’s into his outdoors stuff do something camping related. Surely that’s easier to organise at present?

Largely depends what's open but if you were going to Germany for the drinking experience then you could try the Bier Kellers (there was one in Leeds but I think the closest is now Liverpool).

Whilst Frankfurt is a great city it is nowhere near the best place in Germany for a night out/Stag weekend. The exception - believe it or not - is at the end of August during the Museum Festival.

Ghyll scrambling and a via ferrata in the Lakes somewhere? Hire a house on the edge of one of the lakes. Some come with their own canoes. You could hire bikes and do a cycling pub crawl too.

Edinburgh, great night out. Paintballing or maybe team orienteering with an outdoor pursuits company. Followed by beer, of course and the inevitable map reading post mortem.

We did football golf and clay shooting in the Leeds area. A bit further afield you could do the Zip wire in Wales, with a mixture zip or go karting down the quarry side.

The Bier Keller in Leeds is garbage. Do what the stag would enjoy, an outdoors event would be best suited to the next 6 months anyway.

I went on a stag do to Howstean Gorge - https://www.howstean.co.uk/
Stayed in a bunkhouse on the Friday and did the night at Theakstons in Masham.
Spent Saturday in the gorge and then went down to Leeds for the night and stayed there.

It was a decent laugh and might fit your stag.

If they all decided to do that, well, natural selection wins I guess lol? I've had some great drunk weekends on the edge of Coniston in a house with canoes and never felt the urge (Lanehead if anyone remembers going there on school outward bound trips?!)

Both of my sons went for karting, can't go far wrong there. Foot Golf or paintballing afterwards. Liverpool was a good night out but too many beggars for my liking.

Can only think of Gavin & Stacey.
