Went on one to the lakes a couple of years ago.

We stayed in youth hostel in Trout Beck (decent boozer up the valley with a cracking beer garden), Friday night out in Ambleside, Saturday - did raft building on Coniston followed by ghyll scramble, then out into Windermere Sat night

Depending on how many are going, hire a big converted barn in the middle of nowhere. Take a load of booze and a decent barbecue grill. Everyone will have a great time.
