Trevor Sinclair

And where did I say anyone should feel sorry for him? Or did you just jump straight to argue a point I haven’t made?
Not in an argumentative mood at all but you sound like an apologist for him.

He's gone out, got pi$$ed and completely left his sense at home.

The bloke is an utter tool clearly lacking the courage of his conviction.

I’ve literally said every time I don’t agree with him, not sure how that counts as an apologist. I think what he’s said is wrong, but I can understand why he’s said it and he has a right to.

We all want parity right? Where does a white male keep his job if he says something out of turn about a prominent Black death?

Ah the old ‘well what if it happened the other way around’ argument. I haven’t said a white person shouldn’t keep their job.

Everyone should be entitled to air their views, whatever they are, an they should be challenged on them. That’s the only way you learn.

What he said was very stupid, at completely the wrong time and hypocritical as he’s a convicted racist.

They should.

People should also have respect.

Someone’s mother and grandmother just died. Who millions love. If your words aren’t in respect - you shut the eff up.

This is also a man who’s shown his hand with a previous racist conviction. Everyone? So let’s allow sex offenders to tell us publicly how it should be ok to abuse children. That’s the only way you learn.

Sinclair has proved himself to be a racist. As for his views about this country I disagree. Yes, it is not as good as it could be but there have been many improvements made to make this country acceptable for all, regardless of colour. If it was that intolerable why do all the immigrants want to cross Europe risking their lives specifically to come and live here?

As for his tweet about racism being allowed to thrive there are a number of example that would completely contradict that statement.

In the media it would be fair to say there are many more black or brown people than ever before. Newsreaders, journalists and tv adverts being one example. I think I read somewhere that 13.8% of the country are from a black or ethnic minority background, and 25% of tv adverts include this demographic. In the sector I have worked in if I was to apply for a job now, in London, the application form states clearly 'We particularly encourage those from a black or ethnic minority background to apply'

In other words a white, English man from the NE of England would not be high up in the pecking order. We are not perfect but much better than other countries when it comes to making the effort to be multicultural.

Extreme comparison but ok. That’s exactly what’s starting to happen with the dunkenfeld programme in Germany. You can’t tackle a problem if you refuse to talk about it.

I'd never heard of it but it appears to be about dealing with the person's desire before they become an offender, rather than encouraging them to convert the public to the legitamcy of their point of view & actions.

For reference:

Daytime drinking Trev? I mean talkabout how to lose a decent job. Twitter can truly be a strange place.

I'm pretty sure he's also a young footballer coach.
Surely not? Would be surprised if someone with a domestic abuse conviction and also a racism conviction can pass the FA DBS screening to work with young people.

If he can pass this screening then the system needs looking at

Has tweeted some sort of apology , only trying to save his ar5e & job , no one will want the adverse publicity he now brings .....that & the fact he is crap

He did in fact at one time run a Soccer School with John Barnes and Paul Parker ,based in Dubai .

I ended up running the line during one of their matches and Sinclair was absolutely brilliant with the kids. He was reffing the game ,when a kid about 7 yrs old took a hefty whack. The kid not wanting to lose face in front of the other kids limped off visibly in pain with tears in his eyes. The kid disappeared behind some trees crying his eyes out. To be fair to Sinclair he noticed the lad had disappeared and handed the whistle to Barnes , he then went in search of the lad and after a couple of minutes , managed to coax the lad back into the game.
He then manufactured a penalty and made sure that the lad took it and scored. For the rest of the holiday ,the young lad was walking about with his chest puffed out .

I had a chat with him and once he found out that I was from Boro ,he stated that the North East was always a challenging area to play owing to the levels of racism he endured.

He should have the right to say what he did. Tough as that may be for some to swallow. The convicted racist card is a bit of a strange one.. he went on a bender after being patted on the head and called something racist insulting and derogatory. The tone of that upset in the context did lead him to retaliate when arrested, calling the police officer a white b*stard. I’m not making excuses for the guy, but the narrative can stacked against him which might not be necessarily fair.. in my opinion.
