Tonight’s man of the match vs WBA

Howson will be vital over the course of the season and especially at the business end, all of the squad will have there moments which hopefully will add up and end with promotion.

The manager will use the squad, it doesn't mean players are dropped it means the manager is using different assets at his disposal.

Great squad, Forss back on the bench, Clarke, Conway, Howson, Lenihan, Fry, Smith all to come back shortly it looks really promising.

Side note and seriously - where is Engel?

Thought Azaz was poor. Second half had some decent moments but doesn’t release it quick enough, multiple times could’ve played Doak in first half and holds on to it.

Hackney***
Morris**
Edmunson*

Doak started the game well and had a good period around the time when we scored but they kept him quiet for large periods of the game I thought.

Azaz did some good things but his decision making let him down at times.

Thought he played well first half, second half I agree, he just takes too long to make his mind up what he wants to do with the ball, frustrating, but sometimes he has real quality...

Honestly apart from Ayling I don't think I can fault any of them. Superb performance but you've got to give man of the match to Hackney closely followed by Morris, what a partnership that is becoming.
On reflection, Ayling has been moved from centre back to right back and back and forth with Clarke and RVB out. That’s not easy to adjust and play well instantly

Hackney ***
Edmundson **
Doak *

Hackney serving notice of his undoubted quality on the near sighted wobblers.
Edmundson serving notice he is bigger & better than a Samsung 8 Space Max
Doak serving notice that he’s far more than just a kid with prospects

Honorary mentions to:-
Izzy for his excellent defensive cameo
Rav for being well, Rav
Morris for being tidier than a cleaner with OCD.

Yeah - I think Ayling has suffered from a lot of moving - and a new partner today (and Doak does not look as good defensively as Jones).

Give Ayling the benefit of the doubt - but if we are playing a team sitting back - I would love to see Jones and Doak together on the right.
