To all the 2019 Tory voters...

When would be a better time?

He's behaving exactly how was predicted, so I won't apologise for the fact that I wasn't duped.

Nobody has died, he's just behaving embarrassingly and making The Conservative Party and everyone who voted for him look bad.

So stop clutching your pearls.
Many people have died from the actions of boris Johnson, behaving the way many have predicted

Yes they have. But I'm not talking about his pandemic response, I'm talking about the objectively very funny situation at Downing Street.

And the pandemic response didn't have his own MPs and Cabinet turning on him, so forgive me for not being understanding of those who see this moment as 'the final straw'.

But when are Labour voters going to realise that gloating and pointing at people that don't vote the same way, and basically being a "you know what" probably drives more voters to this corrupt bunch, were actually part of the problem.
That makes absolutely no sense at all.
You are saying that pointing at a Tory voter and telling them think when voting is going to make non-Tory voters vote Tory...

And no, you have to believe that most people who voted Tory are responsible sentient beings that made a poor choice. Pointing that out to them may not make them vote Labour next time, it may make them think about voting Lib, Green, SNP or whoever, it may make them abstain. If you cannot rationalise the way that you vote, if you are not prepared to use what is between your ears to make a thoughtful choice about where you put your mark then whatever I or anyone else says to you is not going to make a blind bit of difference.

The dozy "don't say nasty things to potential voters" is just a subtle variation of "they're all the same" it is designed to discourage political discussion and discourse, they don't want you to think they just want your X on the right box every five years.

No , but the sad fact is the alternative was corbyn at the last election.

I know it’s not going to be popular on this board , but if the choice is a socialist Labour government or a Tory one, I would choose Tory . Yes, socialist governments are that bad

As Labour have moved to the centre again, I believe they’re electable again. It’s just a shame they haven’t got a Blair like character leading them.

God knows how corbyn would have responded to the Ukraine war . He’s known for being anti nato and anti nuke . Putin would have loved him. People say his opinions don’t matter now as he isn’t in charge. But it was a choice between him and Johnson at the last election essentially.

Johnson needs to go now though . Tempted to go Labour if they propose us joining the single market. I know it won’t happen yet , but there will be a path to it as elections go by

Think you've been had by the right wing media there I'm afraid. Corbyn wouldn't have dragged us towards pure socialism and couldn't have even if he'd wanted to. Although Boris thinks he's one we don't have a president. The PM doesn't have that much power.

A small proportion of labour MPs might have wanted that (though I doubt even that) but they'd never have anything like the numbers to get anything like it through parliament.

What we would have moved towards was democratic socialism as seen in the Nordic countries (you know those frequently top of best places to live, happiest populations polls etc). Far from a disaster and better for the vast majority of the population. But not best for the very richest.

Of course the richest don't want to share more of the pie so they've convinced people like yourself that all forms of socialism are terrible. Scare tactics that have been very effective.

Sorry, but corbyn never was the left of centre politician here make him out to be . He was hard left, you could see it in who he appointed in his shadow cabinet. The appointment of McDonnell to handle finances tells you everything you need to know.

Funny you mention I’m swayed by the media. The media tend to be hard on centrist and left wing Labour as it’s Tory dominated , yet I’ve got no problem voting for centrist Labour.

The fact is people were warning about Labour not drifting too far to the left or it would alienate voters . Johnson would most likely not have commanded the majority he does now if the Labour leader was a moderate . A moderate remain leader might have taken enough votes off the centrist Lib Dems to stop the tories if they did

I'm a Labour voter like everyone else. But when are Labour voters going to realise that gloating and pointing at people that don't vote the same way, and basically being a "you know what" probably drives more voters to this corrupt bunch, were actually part of the problem.
im hardly gloating.. I’m pointing out the lameness of some of the reason they supported him and how they seem shocked at how it’s turned out…

Everyone’s entitled to vote however they want, but if they’re gonna go public with their opinion they need to be prepared to have it pointed out to them that the signs were there…

No shortage of contradictions there

Right, Left and Centre, blah, blah, blah.
It’s nothing to do with the preference of the voter….it’s the system that denies a true representation of those views.
FPTP is undemocratic, archaic and needs to be discarded.
It’s a system that allowed this debacle to happen, allowing one person to interpret constitutional arrangements designed to allow, if wanted, power without restraint to the executive.
Everyone’s vote should be reflected in the percentage of votes attached to it.
PR is messy, but is at least more democratic than this farce of a constitutional system.

Ok. But that doesn't address any of the points I made does it?

Everyone's definition of "far left" is different depending on their starting point. Do you really think he'd have tried to turn us into somewhere like Venezuela. And if so how would he have managed it with, in all likelihood, a minority government and the vast majority of his own MPs against it?

The Nordic model many would say is left wing. Not left of centre. Left wing. Those on the right might even say it's far left. That's in all likelihood where we would have moved closer to. If you were against that or scared of that, then why?

It’s always the same isn’t it? It’s never ‘those who voted for them’ fault, it’s the media etc.
Here is what was in the public domain about Johnson before the election:

Sacked for lying twice
Cheated on his wife while she was undergoing cancer treatment
Fathered 4 (maybe 5( children to other women whilst he was in a relationship
Evidence of racism
Evidence of homophobia
Evidence of misogyny

And still they flocked to vote him

Ahhh but
Corbyn…….
And before that
Milliband and the bacon sandwinch
And before that
Brown and his funny eye

I just wish Tories they were honest with themselves.

Say it loud and proud
“I’m selfish’
or
’Im a racist’
or
both

Yeesh. And again.

Caught trying to arrange for a journalist to be beaten up.
£50m somehow spent on a garden bridge that isnt even at a planning stage.
Using public money to fund his affair with Acuri.
Dodged the Andrew Neil interview.
Turned up at the cenotaph sh*tfaced.
Hid in a f*cking fridge.

And people who call themselves "centrists" voted for it cause they didn't like the sound of hard left policies like 'more trees'... 🤣🤦‍♂️

Honestly, what sort of freak would you have to be to vote tory.

"Wah wah wah but but but but Corbyn was going to take away my internet bills" idiots.

Someone who doesn't follow the news and only sees the good publicity around Johnson and his facade?
There is a huge amount of politically naive people out there who will, at the end of the day, be led by tax cuts and media spin and are driven by selfish reasons. They aren't all racist bigots and right wing loonies, but be don't of their lack of engagement with the real issues they get lumped into the same boat as all the really nasty ones.
Not sure how you get the socially democratic message out to them so that they can see it is worthwhile pursuing.

And as if to make my point, Steve Baker is on about getting politics out of people's lives and getting on with cutting taxes and making people's lives "better".
No Steve, you sniveling arsewipe, you've had your time at the trough, it's time people saw the real Tory party in all of its ugliness and we start looking after the interests of the population and not your greedy, parasitic mates.
