Have I got an I.T security issue?
I know it’s Xmas, and probably not the best time, but since yesterday, when I open some threads on here (on my I-pad), this is what I get..have I got some security issues? Anyone else getting the same? What do I need to do to get rid of it? I initially thought it was an advert..any IT gurus able...

No, but I get a little "close this pop-up cross" all the time on here (I use Brave so it pretty much stops everything). Explains what it is now though.

I see the same thing and I use brave too.
I'm afraid in the ever expanding arms race against intrusive and unwanted adverts (I'm speaking about the internet in general and not this site), I introduced network wide DNS based advert blocking years ago at home, so I never see any adverts here. It's not personal or a deliberate attempt to get fmttm for free but it is unfortunate collateral damage in a much larger conflict

Its been happening for weeks for me, I hoped Rob would have sorted it when it was first alerted on the site but it still keeps going on. Yes you can just press a back button but the fact it turns up on my screen makes me feel sooner or later something will happen which infects my phone if it hasn't already.

Ah so that was why I had that rouge X.
My issues with this site is the time it take to boot it up and navigate. It's really, reeeeeeally slow! I'm not techie, haven't a scooby as to what to do apart than wait. Some days I just can't be bothered which is a shame because this forum is pretty interesting and keeps me informed about all sorts of local stuff. The problem does not exist with any other site, I'm in straight away. I have ESET security that's all I can tell you, it never happened ever on my old laptop which had Avast. Any ideas? My router is 4 ft away and have a healthy signal.
