This Friends reunion thing

I'll just add to the original post that I have never set out to watch an episode of my own volition, but I have had to sit through several episodes in room populated by 21 yr old metrosexuals.

I never watched it at the time. I simply couldn't understand how massive it was. I just remember the whole world going crazy whenever a new series came out.

The 'issue' was that it used to be on a Friday at 2100 (channel 4?). So I was in my prime lashing up phase so never in😂 (see also Band Of Brothers).

I found it mildly amusing during re runs. You watch it now and it's pretty cringy and you'd not know when to laugh if it wasn't for the canned laughter.

I didn't watch it last night. I saw a clip when one of them said 'we are friends for life' or something like that. Apparently they've only met up together twice since the show ended. I imainge they are far from bieng 'friends'.

I haven't seen the reunion yet, but I loved Friends all part of my love for everything 90s. Still watch the reruns now on Comedy Central.

No doubt this puts me firmly in the uncool flyme category, along with my love of Oasis and everything Britpop 🙈

Watched every single episode about 20 times at least I reckon.

Watched the full series 1-10 in a row a good number of times.

It's normally on the background in my house whenever we're doing something and not fully concentrating on the TV.

Not afraid to say I love it and think it's the greatest sitcom ever made.

However, this new 'Friends reunion' just stinks of desperation and I am not expecting much from it.

Sometimes leaving great series alone is the best thing to do.

(Pelters from the 'cool FMTTM gang' incoming)

Love Friends, watched it so many times when I was younger

Not interested in the reunion in the slightest though, very disappointed that it's just a bunch of people reminiscing about the programme.

TBF the reunion thing seems fairly harmless to me. Sure, its just the cast reminiscing about the good old days for money, but its not like its going to damage the legacy of the original series.

It was great. It became a bit of a parody of itself by the end but I used to love it back in the day and still enjoy flicking it on for 10 minutes here and there now. Whether you like it or not, its impact on global popular culture in the 90s was immeasurable.

I enjoyed much of the music around the time of Oasis, for me it was an awakening from a fairly long musical slumber.

Friends I just couldn't get. Having spent 5 years in the States trying all sorts of weird TV nonsense I can say it's pretty par for the course over there. Drivel.

Wasn't on last night was it? It came out today at 8am on Sky and will be shown on SkyOne tonight at 8pm.

There are loads of Oasis fans on here tbf.

Watched friends back in the day when I was a teenager, it seemed to be on E4 constantly.

Have no interest in watching the cast discuss it with James Corden, and would have no interest if they made a new episode now. Leave it as it is, the cast definitely don’t need the money and neither does Corden.

It was amusing at the time, but not exactly groundbreaking, it was Seinfeld for the masses. It's aged badly for me, seems very twee, vanilla, wooden and lacking in character. It's the american Only Fools.

There were certainly better american sitcoms in that era that have lasted better Frasier and Seinfeld being the two standouts.
