This Friends reunion thing

Talk about exaggeration ! - the small portion of the world that was bothered about Friends possibly, but I'm certain there were far more that couldn't care less - me and just about everybody I know included in that
I also didn't care less. Although in terms of a comedy show and long running series it was a global golieth.

The amount of magazine and talk show coverage prior to a new series was massive. You used to have women taking about Rachel's new hair for months😂. The would be on from everything from FHM to OK magazine.

I quite enjoyed friends the series, there were 2 outstanding episodes for me

The Brad Pitt one when him & Ross had formed the 'I hate Rachael' fan club in school, and the Alec Baldwin episode where he was over the top optimistic about everything

ha! good fun

I actually saw an episode filmed live, the episode where they were at paleontologist conference in Barbados. Mike Rudd and Hank Azaria were also in it.

Friend of my mates flatmate worked on the show so we were "VIP guests" of one of the producers. Got to go on set, sit on the couch in the café etc.

Took absolutely ages (as you'd expect) probably close to 12 hours. Did start to get a bit boring after a while!

My wife also saw an episode filmed live back in the 90s. The One where Chandlers flatnate wont Leave. As you say I can recall her being there all day

Decent enough program. Ruined by James Corden though.

Matthew Perry is definitely the guy, such a shame drink and drugs ruined what should have been a glittering career.

Never really 'watched it' but did see a couple of episodes - I think when I was ill. I found it a little shallow but at the same time the chemistry was definitely there between the cast members. I'd imagine it was enjoyable if you'd grown with the cast and the show from its inception. It reminded me of a grown up version of Happy Days in a way!

I, like most, can half watch it but thought this reunion thing was quite good. Corden is annoying but he wasn’t really in most of it.

Watched every single episode about 20 times at least I reckon.

Watched the full series 1-10 in a row a good number of times.

It's normally on the background in my house whenever we're doing something and not fully concentrating on the TV.

Not afraid to say I love it and think it's the greatest sitcom ever made.

However, this new 'Friends reunion' just stinks of desperation and I am not expecting much from it.

Sometimes leaving great series alone is the best thing to do.

(Pelters from the 'cool FMTTM gang' incoming)
I don't think it's about anyone being in a 'cool gang', I think it's just more to do with age tbh. I'm not in the target demographic and have no interest in it. I was more into Cheers, which I always thought of as ending just before Friends started. Anyway, I don't see anyone giving you pelters, happily.

Def agree about Alec Baldwin. Probably my favourite episode.

Matthew Perry hardly spoke and when he was talking you could tell the neurological damage the drink and drugs have had on him.
As mentioned last night it’s is clear that not only has his drug dependency affected his health he has also suffered from mental illness. He was obsessed by making people laugh and was scared of people not laughing at him. Such insecurities coupled with him turning to drugs and he isn’t the man he was in the early episodes of Friends. It was very sad to see.

His agents came out and said the reason he was slurring his speech was due to a dental operation he had just before filming :sneaky:

Yeh I loved it when it was in it`s prime and will still watch an episode if it`s on via a channel hop

Haven`t seen the reunion in full and only caught glimpses, probably watch it at a later date

Some have mentioned leave Friends as it is.....I`d agree but I`d still watch any new episodes that came out, just out of interest I guess.........actually no it`ll be because of Jennifer
