Honestly I think the penny has dropped today
We genuinely are a championship.club that is well.ran ( mainly.) Of which I am very proud
We are just not good enough for automatic....we are definitely good enough to not be relegated but our next few years will spent judging the season by " how many points we are off the play offs"

Its just what we are

I expect us to dic& Rotherham but why ? Why do I expect that in a league where everyone beats everyone...excepting....there's always 1 at the top who.dicks everyone

We are a champo club.

Likely for a long time and I'm ok with it...

My name is Ian baird and I'm a boro addict I've been clean now for 2 hours...

It's the.hope that kills so I've dispensed with hope and replaced it with an injection of pragmatic realism.

Is your name really Ian Baird?

Until we sign/unearth another cameron archer and someone to match Jones' pace and threat on the left (like ramsey) and can actually stop leaking goals i'm in agreement (whether we are in a cup final or not after Tuesday evening)

I dont think we'll be around the Top 6 come May

Yes its a lottery but to take 1 point from 6 against the league's bottom side says it all really

We missed our best opportunity in a long time last season

Can’t disagree with both posters. We just do not have the killer instinct. We’ve been let down by some hideous results this season and I can’t help but feel we’ll pay for it come May.

To excuse last seasons messy end is a mistake. We should have went up last year but the team we finished the season with.

Grammar. The difference between feeling your nuts and feeling you’re nuts. 😉

We are a decent champo club. We will flirt with playoffs most seasons. Then again most clubs do at somepoint and that's why I love them. You can still have a realistic chance of sneaking in even if mid table in March.

We spend more than the majority of none parachute payment clubs. So I simply don't get why still some fans moan about 'investment'. The new model will hopefully make us less reliant on Gibson. The signings over the last 2-3 have been far better than the Fletcher / Flint and Saville times (stunning waste of money).

The interest in Rogers proves that. No doubt Hackney and Rav will be next.

We are a championship club. Recent history tells us nothing else. We've had one season in the prem and sunk without a fight. It was an absolute nothing season.

I prefer the champo. I hardly watch much prem football these days. Just run by 6 clubs. Although this is purely as a fans perspective. I know the club needs to be in the top flight for finances and players wanting to play in the best league.

We are 'as good' or better than many other championship clubs. We are very well run. The clubs getting relegated are making it so much harder for everyone else due to parachute payments. Leeds / Leicester and Southampton have amazing squads.

Still so much to play for. League Cup semi and 3 points off the playoffs. We have some cracking young players. It's definitely not all doom and gloom 👍

In my lifetime of supporting the Boro (since 1968) we have mainly been a Championship Club. We have been in the top league quite a lot including the late nineties, early noughties glory years but the Championship is our level for the size of the Club. Saying that we have always punched above our level and have been more successful that so called bigger clubs such as the North East Giants. (y)

Why is the championship our level? Fulham, Crystal Palace, Brighton, Bournemouth, Luton, Sheffield United, Burnley, your talking out your ****!! Are you telling me that those clubs that I've mentioned are bigger than us!! Not in my eyes and we should be equal if not above them.

We are a championship club. Doesn’t mean we can’t go up.

We’ve had crap luck with injuries this season, the distraction of a cup run, some awful refereeing performances - and we’re 3 points off the playoff places. Plus our manager is still relatively new.

Of course we should be beating Rotherham at home. But these games happen sometimes. A decent ref and we do win. 3 game-changing decisions in the game (offside Rotherham goal, shirt pull in the box, disallowed goal in stoppage time) - we get any of those and we win. They probably all should have gone our way and we’d have won comfortably.

For every Rotherham performance, there have also been wins against Leicester, Southampton and WBA, and cracking away wins at Norwich and Watford.

Long way to go this season. More importantly the club is well run. Our recruitment is improving. And most games (as long as we’re not playing Rotherham) we’re playing decent stuff.

It appears you have used a draw against Rotherham to predict our performance over the 'next few years'. Seems a bit of a reactionary leap if I am honest.

We are a similar sized club to at least half the prem so there is no reason we cannot hope to compete there.

Yesterday was a big kick in the balls and I am still fuming and massively angry with the performance but I don't think we should write off the next few years over it.

I suspect it wasn’t just yesterday’s result but a combination of results dating back a few seasons. We will get promotion again one season in the future I’m sure. Given that the premier clubs get richer while we stay where we are makes it harder.
