The Weekend beer and music thread

Gary Moore, for me, one of the most underrated guitarists of all time.

That's not to say he wasn't recognised as supremely talented but I feel he goes under the radar a little for casual rock / blues fans.
He was a composer of incredible guitar music, and was attached to other huge influences (certainly on me). Scott Gorham, Phil Lynott, Brian Downey, Snowy White…..

Worth a listern
The story of the Coldstream Guards braggin about "we march as one",
an Brian tells the DLI marching, then "ting".
Coldstream Guard says "whats that"?
Fkn medals!

I'll stick to my English folk theme. and Louis Dunford, and a Berwick Hills & Pallister theme, I guess ASB is country wide and not just a local Berwick Hills problem.

No beer for me tonight. Had a few at The Ali Brownlee Parmo party last night.

Back again on Tuesday for the 97/98 Promotion night. Looking forward to that!

On a music front, been listening to Gaslight Anthems new single today. First bit of new material since their Hiatus. One of my all time favourite bands (and I’m a huge fan of Brian Fallon in general). Can’t wait for the album and hopefully some European tour dates won’t be too far away from being announced!

Working from home again today and still balls deep in emails, but it's 4.30 pm so I've cracked open my first beer for 2 weeks (had a two week fast, cut out carbs and drank oceans of water....... put a pound on 🙄).

Today, I've been mostly enjoying this song...... the vocals remind me of someone, but I'm not sure who right now? Bear's Den maybe? Fatherson?

...and you're all making me feel very at home today.......someone drinking Chicago's finest Goose Island IPA and someone listening to Andrew Bird (from Lake Forest, Illinois.....2 miles from where I live)
