I have been sitting looking at the remaining fixtures since the match ended.
I'm surprised some have already thrown in the towel.
I think Sheff U will be lucky to get anything out of Loftus Rd in QPR's last home game of the season.
I am pretty confident they won't beat Fulham either on the last day at home. I see them finishing on 69, 70, 71, 72 (if they win one) or at best 73 points (if they win and avoid defeat). If they win their last 2 they deserve the place.
Millwall should stuff Peterborough next saturday, but I can only see them getting beat at Bournemouth on the last day. They will get 69, 70 or at best 72 points.
We can't reach Forest even if they lost all four which they definitely won't.
We won't reach Luton either, they have Reading at home last day even if they need a point.
So Middlesbrough, how much do you want it?
I'm certain that 3 wins will get us 6th place on 73 points, even if Sheff U get 4 points, which I just don't see.
It could get as tight as Goals scored never mind goal difference.
We need to despatch a very poor Cardiff on wednesday night. Only 6 clubs have scored fewer than them and more importantly only 4 clubs have conceded more. We don't just need to win we need to bury them. Payero and McGree to start in midfield for me. Connolly nowhere near the team.
Any sort of win over resurgent Stoke would be great.
Then we go to Preston for a match we may not even have to win if we win our next two at home. But I really do think we will win there.
As gutting as the missed chances are today and as woeful as our senior forwards are, I still think we have a pretty good chance of grabbing 6th.
Play either Huddersfield, or a Spenceless Forest over 2 legs. I think we could easily do Huddersfield.
Huddersfield, Spenceless Forest or Luton at Wembley.
We'd have all taken that wouldn't we?
