The unofficial "Official" Swansea City v "Neil Warnock`s" Middlesbrough - Match Thread.

Poor refereeing cost us a) Bolasie pen b) not allowing Bola goal c) Saville pen
Poor decision by A) bola heading back towards his goals , b) Howson not shouting MINE . c) Saville making a rash tackle in the box , but we were all flat footed as the ball ran across our box .
The positives , we outplayed the team in 3rd , let's continue and see what happens .
Big ask now , but don't give up just yet .

Well no. The ref gave it so it was a penalty and thats a fact so with the greatest of respect, youre talking nonsense. If you mean it shouldn’t of been a penalty, i would disagree because had that happened at the other end we’d be going mad. Even if it wasnt, Saville’s given him a decision to make so again as much as I agree we were playing against 12 men today, to an extent we’ve got ourselves to blame. Yes the ref gave a corner initially bit considering what he did with Bola’s goal are you surprised he changed his mind?
Rubbish.

if it was howson why did he not head it first given he had a running jump and climbed on bola too, it looked like it just hit bolas head rather than bola tried to head it clear. 100% howsons fault I think, weak as ****.

I am a big believer in the referees decision being final.
No matter how wrong.
We can't change the result or any of the decisions that cost the game.
But that guy must never be allowed on a football pitch ever again.
That’s being said every wekk now. There shouldnt be any referees left!

Why do people who want to criticise Saville for his whole match performance let that cloud there judgement of one decision by the referee
Saville didn’t dive in he got there first and the Swansea player kicked through his foot.
Foul to us if any decision other than the corner the referee initially signaled
Nope thats just not true. Reckless challenge, that was avoidable thats gave an incompetent ref a decision to make. Penalty for me but you see them types given, sometimes theyre not. Point is we didnt need to give him a decision to make and that was Saville’s fault becausevhes left with no choice but to dive because hes busy ball watching. Not disputing the ref was garbage bit dont defend Saville

sorry fella, yes he was slow reacting, but he played the ball, so it isn't a penalty

Funny you say that. I was thinking exactly that.
When that gets analysed and they see his position for the disallowed goal, he will definitely be demoted.. but there's only so many referees they can't demote them all!

Can we combined Assombalonga and Fletcher wage to pay Ayew a handsome wage next season . As a striker like that is the difference between mediocrity and smashing the league.

I can't see how refs being interviewed would be a positive step, it would only add to the controversy.

Punishing them isn't the answer either.

I'm not sure what is done to analyse their performance, but he's obviously one of the best referess available at this level, so they need to work to try and improve their performances.

Maybe a league table for refs, with promotion and releagtion could be the answer?
I can't agree with this.
Aa I said earlier, he immediately gave the corner then. as a few Swansea appeals went up, he pointed at the spot. I for one would love to know why he did that and if, as is being suggested, the assistant or fourth official chimed in then why didn't he take the time to go and consult them? the time between signalling a corner and pointing at the spot was way to quick for any consideration to have been made and I honestly think he's responded to the appeals of the Swansea players in much the same way as he's responded to the scream and dramatic reaction of the defender when he has kicked Bolasie for the disallowed goal.
If he had to provide feedback, even via a written statement, as to why those decisions were made then we as fans might be more able to accept the decisions or accept that the referees association would be working with the referees to prevent such mistakes in the future.
As it stands I'll always be of the opinion that he's not only useless, but also very likely to be biased to the home team and easily influenced (or conned) by players who are not being honest.

Open your eyes - thats not reckless nor illegal.
He won the ball legally.
The Swansea lad is late.
The ref is wrong.

amazing how different people see things I don't think he was ball watching he wasn't even looking at the player coming in & I don't think he dived in either it looks more like he's clearing it to me & their player kicks his foot. One thing is for certain Saville got there first the ref gave a corner when I think he should have given a free kick to us the Swansea players surrounded him then he changed his mind. The ref got it very wrong twice in the same half.

He scored a "penalty" and a defensive **** up.

Swansea were rubbish today.
