The unofficial "Official" Swansea City v "Neil Warnock`s" Middlesbrough - Match Thread.

What I will say is that I think it's clearly not a penalty, but I'd not have been as outraged if it was the only mistake he'd made all match, or if Swansea hadn't got an even flimsier penalty to steal a win in the previous match too.

The referee has had a shocker today, and Swansea seem to be benefitting from very soft decisions.

He gets there and does his job for me.
If thats how you see it dude. Not for me though. Ref was unbelievably bad for the Bola goal but the penalty well, you see them given time and again. Whether the decision was right or wrong is subjective but what isnt is Saville should be doing better in the build up to ensure we get the point we deserved. Should be looking at our own failings first. That just seems to have been overlooked on here this evening. Anyway, performance was better, Morsy opened his account. Fletcher and Tav must be close. Must win next game.

Saville got there when he was supposed too ie when the ball arrived and he didn’t lunge or dive in.
Got there first and then there player kicked through him.
Plain to see on video or still image.
About 50 people have said you are wrong on here tonight but that doesn’t seem to matter to you. You just keep repeating the rubbish over and over again.
Anyway enjoy
Goodnight

We looked like a top two team to me, improvements can be made and with players still to come back into the side. Looks like we might just be promotion material just as the season ends.

Disallowing Bola's goal was as ridiculous and mysterious as David Ellery chalking off Juninho's in the cup replay v. Chesterfield. (One for the old 'uns) At least Ellery was trying to atone for his howler in the first match. Wonder what karmic force was guiding Mr. Ward today. Or maybe he's just incompetent?

We looked like a contender. Not a top team though. Akpom, Watmore didnt have a kick. We need something different in the middle, out wide and upfront. All those positions need a guile that the players we have just have in their game

Wasnt that because the game didn’t actually kick off after we’d just scored. Like no one knew quite what was going on?

Similarly, if he gave a corner, he must have seen it came off Saville. Can anyone explain the physics as to how it's possible not to get to the ball first, but neverthless concede a corner? I'm struggling. As apparently was Mr. Ward all afternoon.

I actually think that Saville initially made no contact on the ball and the player kicked Savilles foot onto the ball. The Swansea player kicked through Saville and that made Saville contact the ball. Just how I saw it.

The fact the ref first gave a corner makes the decision feel much worse I suppose. If he’d pointed straight to the spot most people would be annoyed but not as badly.

On the Juninho goal, I was there and assumed the scoreboard hadn’t been updated and it was only halftime I learnt it had been disallowed.

Totally agree with your analysis of the foot/ball/impact assesment. Shouldn't be that a foul to us though? How great to hear from someone who was at the replay. I was in an Irish Pub in Germany. Could only afford to fly over for finals in those days ;-)
