The unofficial "Official" Swansea City v "Neil Warnock`s" Middlesbrough - Match Thread.

I totally agree with your foot/ball/impact assesment. Doesn't that mean a foul for us though? How great to hear from someone who was at the replay. I was in an Irish Pub in Germany. I could only afford to fly over for finals in those days ;-)
It certainly does, kicking another player is a foul. Saville putting his foot between ball and player is not a foul, it's how you protect the ball.

Yes, when you see it in slow motion it should probably be a foul to us. At full speed in the game my initial thought was “oh, oh that could be a penalty” . Sadly for us this ref decided it was a pen. Eventually.

I thought the Bola decision was much the worse of the two.

Absolutely. I saw a comment by a Swansea fan saying something like "Our player got is toe to the ball, then Saville took him out." Priceless. I wonder if we'd be as deluded trying to defend the indefensible. On the other hand, Brexit has given everyone a good grounding in that skill. Ooops, sorry, forget that; it's Saturday evening and for once we're all nicely aligned in our rage.

Second half- good performance. Why? We took the game to Swansea with greater pace, better passing and a greater intensity. We were the better team by a distance. We lost - we shouldn’t have. We looked decent second half. Need to show this application a lot more.

That's the intensity we need to bring every game next season. I think we let our heads drop sometimes when we see the ball bounce off our strikers, so a new CF will hugely change that if it's the right one.

If this doesn’t give the players the feeling of injustice that drives them on for the rest of the season, then nothing will. Next game get at the opposition, knock them over ,just steam roller them
Problem with this psychology is that the sense of injustice does indeed drive players on and then they come up against another sh!thouse of a ref and either get sent off or totally disillusioned at yet more inept decisions. It’s a fine line and shows just how serious and dangerous this bloody awful refereeing standard is. Makes me want to weep.

After watching the build up to their penalty again , we defended poorly .
What was McNair doing on the wing prior to the ball going to Ayew ?
Well out of position considering he was centre half , and was also slow getting back.
Then Fry turns his back as Ayew crosses , face the ball and the man
Then Saville lunges in the. Box , but he does get there in front of their man , and their man kicks Saville s foot onto the ball .
The ref cost us 3 points , but we did makes schoolboy errors like the ones above , and the Howson / Bola mix up for their goal .

Cant remember getting over 13,000+ views for a matchday thread before.

It must have been an interesting game.... (y)

The FA are aware of Neil Warnock’s comments yesterday and are looking into the matter.
Doesn't surprise me, but the amount of points referees have cost us this season takes the absolute p1ss. That just seems to be rubbing salt into the wound if he gets fined or worse.

That said we can't just moan about how much referees have cost us throughout the season, it really is quite unreal the way we've been treated in games throughout the whole season, but if we hadn't thrown away so many points at home in 'winnable' games fighting at the wrong end of the table, I guess we wouldn't have so much to moan about when it comes to refs being ar5eholes.

We'd be in or around the top 6 for that matter I'd imagine, though I haven't really looked.

Next season is the one for us. Harsh as yesterday was we'll just have to move on from it and finish this season as best we can. UTB
