* The Unofficial "Official" Reading V Boro Match-Day Thread *

It doesn’t matter how we’re playing if we’re not picking up points, essentially. Yes, at times we play some nice stuff. But a lot of the time we’re just pedestrian. We’re a soft touch at the moment. I spotted it early, a lot of people did. But there are a lot of oracles here who like to preach about how we’re ‘building something’ and try to bully anyone else with a different opinion.

But he’s not getting results, they’re going to start voicing their opinion soon.
We played open football under monk and look just as vulnerable now

It does when how you play dictates how many chances you create and give away. We deserved more in other games, probably still deserve a draw in this one.

People can base opinions on results, and of course results matter, but results don’t often give a fair idea of how games have been. It would normally average out over 5 games, but hasn’t this time for us, the way I see it. Over the course of a season it should.

We have to be a bit pedestrian, when teams have 11 in their half, as they know they’re a worse side so set up that way. We need to figure out what to do in these situations though. We’ve tried to suck them out like we did against Stoke, where it worked. It wasn’t working here though, as the passing has been ****. So we've took another option with higher balls, which seems to be working better, hence the headed chances we’ve had, couldn’t do that first half as we set up for the same as we did v stoke. It’s not like we’re going to make subs after 20 mins.

We’ve been far better than them second half, so we are adapting.

I know the league table doesn’t mean much yet but deary me it’s grim reading. Only not bottom because Coventry can’t play home games!

Something is wrong
Those players are not this poor
I think it could very well be the manager
The manager can’t kick the ball for them, they should be able to pass better, and be able to find the wing backs, rather than leathering the ball out, 20 yards ahead of them.
