* The Unofficial "Official" Boro v Fulham Match-Day Thread and Programme *

The big lad we stupidly let go, would of been handy tonight
He would be useful to throw on for 5 mins but that's the most he would ever get in a Wilder side as he hasn't got the stamina to press.

It wouldn't be fair to Uche to keep him as a 5 minute last throw of the dice as he has more quality than that, just not a Wilder player.

One lapse spoiled an otherwise good performance against a team that is head and shoulders above anything else in this league.

At least we have another chance to put it right in just 3 days time

We don't have to keep moving on though do we, we only need to do it the once, just go unbeaten for the next 7 games.

This is the best team in the league by some distance and we've gave them a really good game. That shower of $hit we play in the last 4 will have nowt on them.
Another one who’s been supporting Boro for three weeks then!

Bamford would have done alright too tbh.

At least those clamouring for Sporar to start have had their request granted so they'll be happy enough now. Best they now move on with that wish too.

Watmore always will be an impact sub however, it's where his strength lies.

Disappointed not to win the game, point would've been more than a fair result. Thought we moved the ball around really well second half, bit more luck we'd have taken the chances. Win Sat and we'll be OK Forest, Hudds and Luton won't all keep winning especially with Hudds playing Luton on Mon, likely be a draw.

Watmore - the sacred cow on here. Just get it on target. That was the chance.

Coburn is worth persisting with but Watmore, Connolly and Sporar are worthless.
What a daft comment. He's in the side for his work rate and press. He's been an absolute steal of a free transfer.

I don't see how anyone can slate watmore? That said he's better off the bench.

You can't hammer Coburn. Yet his was the better chance of the two.

Just felt we got our team selection wrong by playing Taylor and Peltier. It smacked of negativity and meant that we had to use two substitutions to get us back to an attacking set-up.
To be fair there isn’t really anyone else to play at wing back. Bola has injury problems so probaboy just being cautious with him too

I dont understand some of the negative posts, I know we all see a different game but overall a draw was a fair result.

Poor decision making and bad finishing in the final third, one lapse in concentration defensively and Mitrovic scores, difference was Mitrovic.

We now move on and stop taking about others if we win our games as we have a game in hand too, we are in the play offs, the season will be decided by our swuad no others.

Gotta be better in both boxes but lots of positive frustration tonight.

Agree, wilder went with what he thought was best but we let them control the game due to his starting line up.

Still though coburn header, sporar header and watmore chance all 3 didnt test keeper and all 3 should of been goals so very unlucky

Biggest frustration is we deserved something from this game- our strikers on the pitch nowhere near clinical enough. Really is frustrating.

We can take from the game, that we played them off the park in the 2nd half…Mitro one chance - one goal...just what we need.

We will be back on track after Saturday

Shows it's a game of opinions when someone three posts previous says Watmore was superb. I think they're worth persevering with - Connolly and Balogun need to get hungry off the bench, but the strikers and the goalie together remain the big worries. As Kevin Phillips just said about Mitrovic, "He leads the line like a true centre-forward should" and that's what we lack: a hard bas*ard through the middle. Sporar. ok movement but weak and not really clinical. Watmore, yes, good bench player but still the best we've got in any case right now - anyone can miss a chance, especially with the adrenaline at that moment. I'd like to see Balogun and him. Why not?

Ultimately, deserved a point/3 pts and paradoxically much happier with the performance than after the Peterborough game. McGree got game time, Bola's back and Payero maybe in a few games.

Gotta say, Tavernier was outstanding tonight. Premier League quality; never lost the ball. Howson immense.

No, no, no.... THE chance was Coburn's he had the easiest chance. He should have scored. We deserved a point. We shot ourselves in the foot switching off at their free kick. Only ourselves to blame i 'm afraid. We lost due to poor defending and poor finishing, not for the first time.

Watching replays of our chances and I think that’s the downside to rotating strikers all the time……they try too hard when they get a chance! Coburn trying too hard to place it when virtually any touch would have done and Watmore trying to break the back of the net when anything on target would have been a goal.
