"Pub snobs"?? Actually, probably a little these days, but I've been in some pubs in London, Liverpool and the East End of Glasgow that'd make the Pig Iron look like a posh cocktail bar.

The Glasgow ones were particularly special!! Bairds Bar being one of them, me being an English, non-catholic in there was pretty interesting! Sighthill Bowling Club was also an eye opener. (Both closed now i believe)
Pah, you haven’t done rough till you’ve been to a bar in the wrong bit (if there is a right bit) of San Salvador. 😉

Love the pig iron I go there after Isaacs for 11.30 every match day and never see any bother whatsoever. Its a great place to be pre match.

Strangely enough it had a big sign in the window last night..’The Hairy Lemon’…. And had a load of lemons along the bar, 10 years since the change of name or something??

Call it what you want they are both crap names and it a crap pub. We go there sometimes on a match day but wish we could find somewhere better in town. Middlesbrough is terrible for beer unless you like the overpriced stuff around Bedford Street. None of my mates will drink real ales so we have to put up with the ones that do John Smiths Smooth which is utter garbage. They do Tetleys Imperial now which is not too bad but its a bit much before the match. I would not remember anything.

It is in a great location though. Ideal for Town Hall, taxis outside and just a short walk from railway and bus stations.
3.60 a pint in infant and usually a good pint
