Call it what you want they are both crap names and it a crap pub. We go there sometimes on a match day but wish we could find somewhere better in town. Middlesbrough is terrible for beer unless you like the overpriced stuff around Bedford Street. None of my mates will drink real ales so we have to put up with the ones that do John Smiths Smooth which is utter garbage. They do Tetleys Imperial now which is not too bad but its a bit much before the match. I would not remember anything.

It is in a great location though. Ideal for Town Hall, taxis outside and just a short walk from railway and bus stations.
 
Can't say I've ever been there when it was either? Heard it was rubbish and full of idiots? Reputation is enough to keep me away tbh. Poster above mentions overpriced beer elsewhere, I'd rather take the extra cost on the chin and have a pint less, for a nice pint and a decent atmosphere.
 
I go in before every game, nothing wrong with a pint of Smooth. I have never seen bother.

That pub in Colchester or is it Coventry over the road from the station is bad, never been but heard about it on a football message board.

Its not full of idiots. Tends to be older middle age upwards people. It does get packed though. I hear what you say about the extra cost and I agree but as I said all my mates won't drink real ales. I like some but some of those sold on Bedford Street are just awful. A lot tend to be IPAs which I dislike. I would be happy if you could just get a decent pint of Magnet but you only seem to get that in Redcar these days. Although the Navvy has a good pint of it now.
 
Only been in this place a handful of times in each guise and there was fights every time. The people in it looked rough as a boot, some in a right state. Wasn't it Huxters for a while as well?

Remind me not to go in days you do. I must have been in 100's of times and never seen the doorman inside sorting any issue.

I was even chatting to two Derby fans in there, I must live on a different planet.

Not necessarily a different planet, but just perhaps not there? These are just the ones severe enough to get into the papers. You get trouble everywhere though, am sure most places have similar stories, just every time I have gone there its been full of people I wouldn't want to walk into accidentally, and seen some chew going down.
