Thought the last episode was very good. Fully invested in this series now and can't wait for next weeks episode.
She'll be growing up fast, I reckon it won't be next year anyway if they do make a season 2 as it's only just been greenlit but even if it is, she is 19 and they've purposefully made her look younger than she is through camera work, makeup, her acting and she was even apparently wearing a chest binderIt’s a really good watch especially if you haven’t played the games I feel, the games are so much better which tells you just how good they are. I still feel Ellie has been cast incorrectly, if they do a depiction of the second game I don’t think it will work IMO.
It’s probably just because of how much I love the games but even the 14 year old version doesn’t work in my view. She'll be growing up fast, I reckon it won't be next year anyway if they do make a season 2 as it's only just been greenlit but even if it is, she is 19 and they've purposefully made her look younger than she is through camera work, makeup, her acting and she was even apparently wearing a chest binder
After last week's episode, I was hoping for some more good zombie action. However after last week, you were on your toes, expecting something at any moment, so maybe that was the idea.I'm into this now, episode 6 was good (watched it on the tram this morning). I will, with hindsight, assert that I think the slow episodes 3 and 4 could have been rolled into one episode, and they could still have won plaudits for their approach to gay romance on screen (which I think was probably in their thinking in terms of getting the show good publicity), but I won't lose sleep over that. Onwards and upwards now.
I'm confident there'll be some more good zombie stuff in the last 3. I'm bought into the main characters now too, episodes 3 and 4 did nothing on that front for me, so this week's was still enjoyable and it doesn't always have to be about zombies from this point forward for me.After last week's episode, I was hoping for some more good zombie action. From seeing the preview, looks like next week's episode is all about her!I'm confident there'll be some more good zombie stuff in the last 3. At the end of episode 4 I was just thinking there was no point having the 'infected' in it! Might as well just say everyone's dead. And I wouldn't have cared if Ellie had died at that point either, knew nowt about her.
Yep , exactly as it does at the same point in the gameFrom seeing the preview, looks like next week's episode is all about her!
Took the words out of my mouthcan't believe we have circled back to episode 3 again, are you for real lol, they did it for some publicity? Jesus.

The dlc was very short but very well doneAnother really good episode, this has been my favourite TV programme in ages.
It's so good.
I do always wonder about the feasibility of target practice when you have extremely limited ammunition.
Ellie's wasting bullets everywhere she goes, even with the practice.
Episode 7 looks very interesting, I'd never played the DLC as my only experience with the game was one play through on my mate's PS4 whilst I was at uni.
Even most of what I did play is just vague memories from 9 years ago now.
I think they did it to get some good press, yes. TV works like that you know, especially new big budget series. It worked well as well. They had to increase the profile of the show beyond computer game lovers, so I can see why, but that part of the story and (in my view) the next episode didn’t need to be so long and my attention (as you know) almost waned due to neglect of the main characters and lack of their development. This is my opinion, I do apologise for having one.can't believe we have circled back to episode 3 again, are you for real lol, they did it for some publicity? Jesus.
They 100% didn't do it to get some good press.I think they did it to get some good press, yes. TV works like that you know, especially new big budget series. It worked well as well. TBH I am gonna stop posting on this thread cos even when I praise the show you aren’t happy! It’s as if you wrote the thing yourself. You won’t even hear a bad word about sections of individual episodes!
Ok dude. Well done for making this political. All TV production companies want to receive good press, get their shows talked about/grow their profiles and will use whatever vehicles they can to do so. Sometimes it will feel slightly contrived, as it did in this case, in my opinion, and they could have shortened that part of the storyline. This show is big budget and wants to create big waves in the industry. They 100% didn't do it to get some good press.
Naughty dog are a very lgbt friendly company so the idea they used that episode to get them good press is absolute nonsense of the highest order.
They had an Existing good story and made it better. You'd better batten down the hatches because there's going to be sexualities revealed and gender identities explored, both of which got the games review bombed just like that episode.
They didn't have to increase the profile of the show, it was already one of the most anticipated tv shows for years without anyone knowing what or how they would tell the story and if they did need to increase the profile of the show, writing an episode about 2 gay men 3 episodes in would probably be the wrong way to go about it, given how much heat they copped for decisions in the game. It's HBO - home of sopranos, the wire, game of thrones, house of dragon, curb your enthusiasm, Chernobyl, west world, band of brothers, deadwood etc - they know how to produce good TV content and the suggestion that a gay storyline is an attempt at publicity is frankly insulting to not only the show runners / writers but also the lgbt community as a whole.

Episode 4 they could have pretty much done away with altogether in my view too, hopefully the LGBT community won’t feel insulted at me saying this too much though since you speak on behalf of them. There is a gay lad in my team at work who actually said this before I did about episode 3, but you know best.
Enjoy the rest of the series. I’m out.
