The Blue Card is coming to the game

fine.. but each team should get an uno reverse card..

if a captain chooses to play the uno reverse on a blue card.. then the ref has to leave the pitch white a 10 minute no rules free for all goes ahead.

All refs decisions are subject to scrutiny so I think that's irrelevant. They simply need to be instructed to enforce the laws properly.
Unfortunately, those in charge of instructing refs would rather drop refs in the sh1te, viz Howard Webb. He would probably ban refs from eating sandwiches in the presence of managers.

Happy to see it for dissent... but for foul play? surely thats what a red/yellow is for
Yeah I think this blue card will be perfect for mouthy idiots who can’t control themselves.

Be interesting to see games being played by 9v8 players for periods

All we need now is 5 minute multi-ball power plays where 3 additional balls are added to the game.

I think you've answered your own question. Yellow cards are underused because refs worry about the consequences of 2nd yellows and the inevitable scrutiny that results. If blue cards make refs less insecure they could be a good thing.
The blue card acts like a yellow card so a 2nd card would still be a red if they are scared to give red cards now that won't change.

Didn't instill much confidence in the officials if the reason for a whole new system is because they are too afraid to do their job properly.

Just stop messing around with football. The only positive change has been goal line technology. That's because is accurate and isn't needed 99% of the time.

VAR / Blue cards and 100 country world cups. No need. It's not a complicated game. No need to f*ck about with it.

I hate watching prem football on sky. It's just so watered down with VAR and sky blocking all the atmosphere (songs). Why do we need a Blue card? How much difference will it really make? Just one step closer to watching a football match live being like going to a cinema.

There should be an audience vote: just one per game, to keep it fun. So the referee could get it out of the way and let the crowd have their say for the first foul of the game in the 48th second, or let them send a man off for a totally innocuous challenge deep into stoppage time, depending on when they decide to opt for audience participation.

They should also let them team with the best disciplinary record each season earn a Get Out of Jail card too: one chance to cash it in for a straight red and keep your psychotic but mercurial player in the hunt for an equaliser.

Blue balls?

Will turn into timewasting central , you foul , then i foul , pass the fouls & sin bins about , & when a side gets in front with 10 left it will become unbearable ....yet another idea created by the nuggets who brough us VAR

With a blue counting as a yellow in the event of a 2nd yellow then all you'll get is players avoiding a blue which would see them off the pitch for 10 minutes and taking a yellow instead.
Someone is breaking from the centre circle and his marker pulls him back getting a blue card and 10 minutes in the bin.
Or, someone is breaking from the centre circle and his marker hacks him down getting a yellow card and avoids 10 minutes in the bin.
If the consequence of a 2nd offence is a red anyway which option will be chosen?

I wonder if blues will have a totting up number? Surely you can only get so many? Or everyone will see it as a bit of a get out of jail free card.

Debates already started about the loop holes.

Dyche now saying what about coaches do they get them as well.

Looks like they are back tracking after the bad feedback from those in the game.

Apparently they’ve been shocked at how negative the reaction has been
