Team for Sunderland

I think it'll be Azaz over McGree, I doubt he's fully fit given he didn't play a minute yesterday, but I'd agree with that team.

I'm assuming that's still meant to be Conway at 10.

Ayling Edmundson Clarke Borges
Hackney Morris
Doak Gilbert McGree
Conway

Brynn Hamilton Burgzorg Azaz Latte Lath Jones Dijksteel Hunt Barlaser

If Van Den Bergh fit then him for Edmundson dropping to bench instead of Hunt

If Howson fit then him for Barlaser on bench

If there are no injuries or returnees I think it will be one change - Morris for Barlaser - and I’d be ok with that team too

McGree should have been given 15/20 minutes yesterday coming off the bench. Can't understand why this didn't happen if he was deemed fit enough to make the bench, especially as we needed a goal.

As it stands I don't see him being fit enough to start vs Sunderland, but I'd be tempted to start Jones on the left and play on the counter.

Our lopsided left is currently

-----—-----------------Dieng
Ayling----- vdb-----__----Clarke --------------- Borges
----------- -----Morris ---Hackney------
----Jones------Conway-Azaz
-------------------------------Lath Lath

Huge problems for borges when we are out of possession hes so isolated

We need to get back to

Morris for barlaser will likely be the only change.

Edmundson was an odd one for me. He played OK generally but there were two very good boys of play from him. It will be interesting to see where he plateaus for us.

I thought doak looked ok but he did miss the easiest chance of the game too.

This is what I would pick providing McGree was fit. If he wasn't I'd probably chance Hamilton out there.

This what Carrick will pick

Edmundson looked ok, he is obviously comfortable on the ball and a big, strong defender who isn't going to be dominated.

I'd be a little more worried by more tricky players who can turn him round though, but let's see, he might surprise me.

Sunderland have a strong centre midfield three. Playing McGree and Azaz will give us more ball players in central areas which will hopefully prevent them from dominating as they like to in these areas.

Doak doesn't get a look in and Conway is the unlucky loser due to a tactical switch.

2 changes and that's assuming Rav makes it.

Morris will almost certainly come in for Barlaser.

Then Carrick has an headache up front if McGree is firing in training. The fact he got zero minutes on Saturday suggests he's not ready to start yet.

I think it would be harsh to drop Conway after he took his goal so well on Saturday and is improving with every game.

Doak could come in for Jones, but I feel it takes a while for Carrick to make many changes, unless forced.

Dropping Conway would be stupidity.
He's been the best player who's played in our front 4 this season and he's the only player in our team to score a goal from open play.

Fair enough if people wanting to fit Lath and Conway in the team but I don't see how we can drop Conway. He's the only forward who looks in form.
