Team "Boris"

I'm not sure if you're trolling or not. But I presume you live in the UK? What do YOU think the key issues in the last election were then? What do YOU think the key Tory message was? This is the thing that is blowing my mind. We all loved through the last election. Yet you're trying to suggest we should prove events there the same as we need proof of the origins of covid. Are you really saying that? I mean. Think about it for a minute. You're trying to compare proving an event we all lived through to proving a complex event not many of us understand, on the other side of the world. That really isn't right and if you can't see the differences than there's no hope for you

Morning.

Brexit was indeed an issue around the time of the last general election. I did live through it. I could not possibly assume to know the thoughts of each non labour voter in the country based upon these facts however, I think that would be foolish.

A poster earlier in the thread posted 3 links, with a sample size greater than 1, that state leadership was a bigger factor than Brexit in turning off voters. These were ignored or dismissed out of hand. Seemingly in favour of personal lived experience of the individual. I think this is inconsistent with what you require from other posters when debating. If you cannot appreciate that then perhaps there is no hope for either of us.

Now Brexit has "Been Done", with it being the foremost issue as you suggest, I would have expected a return of a great many voters. But it doesn't appear to be the case. Depending on where you look the polls make for quite grim reading for the labour voter. The inhabitants of Hartlepool love the Tories, who'd have thought. I have looked at the reasons given and foremost amongst those, in the articles I have read, is...leadership.
This would suggest to me that, despite my personal experience of being utterly absorbed by Brexit, there exists a persistent issue turning off voters that is more impactful. However, its a complex beast, isn't it. Myriad reasons, probably. One cannot be isolated based on personal experience. Of course, there may exist some data supporting your claims, but when asked for evidence this was not presented, which is my argument - you're not playing by your own rules.

The main reason labour did so badly in hartlepool was brexit , labour thought picking a GP working in the town would have resonated with the locals but he was a pesky remainer ignoring the will of the people, so they got a out of touch tax exile from the Yorkshire countryside who couldn't when interviewed state a single thing she proposed to do.
I understand people voting for houchen , whether you believe him or not he stated his plans, the tory in hartlepool was popular because she wasn't the remoaner

That and people voting for "change" - blaming the sitting MP for all the ills bestowed on the town by central government.

You're being utterly ridiculous. But I think you know that and are doing it deliberately. Which is fine. You can defend Randy and his whako conspiracy theories if you like. It's your perogative.
