Sunderland Away Ticket Info

The scramble for tickets would have been horrendous and caused so much upset. Surely this really poor allocation shows the value of a priority point system.

Should have been introduced after Eindhoven really.

We had more red book holders than tickets didnt we at the time? Back then you got upgraded to a red book from a white book if you renewed for 3 seasons in a row?

I seem to recall it all being about season ticket holders with S & T patron numbers

I got 80 points for my season tickets each year so thats 160 points, so at 2 points for an away game and 3 points for additional home games that would be 20 away games over the past 2 seasons, if you went to all our home cup games. to have 220+ points. Anybody who has done that (not me) deserves a ticket!

I'm not dismissing them, they should have the same chance as the rest of the season ticket holders. It's the system that is dismissing season ticket holders.

When demand outweighs supply you have to do something and the points system is the fairest way. Whether it gets abused and people buy kids tickets for away games with no intention of going just to aquire an additional 2 points is open to discussion

Something needs to be done to address the unobtainable benefits of the Gold Card, as it unfairly favours fans above a certain age, and there's no way of even catching up with them.

Bar that, not really an issue for me.

No such thing as a gold card or benefits anymore, they scrapped that when they brought in the points system, its all based on a rolling 2 year period now. 70 or 80 for a season card, 3 points for a home game and 2 points for an away game

Not for me, I'm afraid. Each season ticket holder should share the same priveleges.

If you have a gold card you get 80 points instead of 70.

That's a benefit.

Unfortunately there isn't a perfect solution, there is always going to be a system that favours a certain section and disadvantages others.

At least the current system, for all its flaws, doesn't disadvantage those that shlep all over the country at a huge financial and time cost

Why should a ST holder who hasn’t been to an away game be able to get a ticket over someone who’s been to 10?
Both have put the same amount of money into the club. It also devalues the season ticket to a degree as well. I would've renewed mine a wile back if i knew i was in the pot for every away game. Not the case anymore unfortunately.

The season ticket gives you a heavily discounted ticket to every home game including loyalty points, you then top this up by attending away games. I don’t think to devalues the season ticket whatsoever. If you wish to attend games like Sunderland away then supporters should attend more away games and boost their points, it’s fair enough.

Funny guy...
I remember being at Roker when you lot never bothered to turn up at Roker either.
19,006 at Roker in April 1982. 21,019 at Ayresome.
20,541at Roker in Oct 1985. 19,701 at Ayresome
15,770 at Roker in Aug 1987. League Cup.
21,569 at Roker in Aug 1989. 17,698 at Ayresome
25,093 at Roker in Apr 1992. 19,424 at Ayresome
16,473 at Roker in Jan 1994. 12,772 at Ayresome
16,501 at Roker in Mar 1995. 19,578 for return at Ayresome.
20,841 at Roker in Oct 86 in the PL. 30,106 at Riverside for the return.

You have big crowds at SOS, yet generate less money from them.
You'd have a bigger crowd against us if you let in who wanted to come from Boro.
Boro were very poorly supported during the 80’s them figures you quote are way above what Boro were pulling in both teams were dire during this period mind

It’s literally a fact that a season ticket is now devalued.
