Imagine if a top manager came in like a klopp or ancelotti and told them they would never have success unless they let go of their toxic rivalryI think you have nailed it here.
You get the feeling with them they have this sense of huge injustice and that they should be competing with the elite clubs of England'
Their hatred of Newcastle is so toxic.
He gave us a lot of problems at the Riverside. He is a very good player and was carrying Sunderland for most of the season. How do people rate Jack Clarke?
I heard some Sunderland claims he was the best player in the division pre-christmas, but his form seems to have fallen off a cliff since Mogga left.

Creative & always looks a threat, does fine out wide - if a little slow - for winger in the Championship but his lack of pace could count against him getting a PL big move.. maybe back to SpursHow do people rate Jack Clarke?

It would be like weaning them off an additive drug. Itās how they identify themselves.Imagine if a top manager came in like a klopp or ancelotti and told them they would never have success unless they let go of their toxic rivalry
Im fairly certain their hatred of newcastle is born out of a need to try and make themselves relevant these days. Rivalaries come from competing with one another and lets be honest they are levels apart and have been for many years now. Both clubs have completely different ambitions. Newcastle are looking to regain a champions league/european cup spot, sunderland will be lucky to finish in the top half of the championship. It would be like weaning them off an additive drug. Geordies arenāt arsed about them these days.
The delusion is a kind of comfort blanket for them - an escape from the reality that theyāve been largely dog **** for the last 90 years. In fact of the 6 division one titles they won, 3 were in the 1800ās . They cling to the āwe woz massive marraā mantra for dear life, whilst carefully omitting most of it was over a century agoTheir message board is awful and full of self delusion. The mackems I know are all decent people mind. I know some great people from Wearside.
Is that the lad who played football manager? They are appointing Will Still apparently. Mackems are creaming their pants about it to be fair. Last 2 seasons he has managed Reims, mid table french team. He has obviously agreed to work on a shoe string.
To use as an occasional sub, even funnierLetās go in for Clarke. That would be funny.
A few facts about himā¦They are appointing Will Still apparently. Mackems are creaming their pants about it to be fair. Last 2 seasons he has managed Reims, mid table french team. He has obviously agreed to work on a shoe string.
The irony is that a lot of them say that Boro/Sunderland has never felt like a rivalry because they don't know many Boro fans, yet they don't even play Newcastle these days and still say it's a rivalry.Im fairly certain their hatred of newcastle is born out of a need to try and make themselves relevant these days. he isnt the best in the league, but he is a very good player at this level and is capable of a ten game spell where he looks like it. He can also go missing when it gets tough. How do people rate Jack Clarke?

Yeah, I think they also like to try and belittle us as it makes them feel as though they're a bigger club than what they actually are. That's what they say, but its far from the truth. It was a rivalry in the 70's and 80's, and anyone who was there knows it.
The reason why they don't want to admit its a rivalry now is because for the last 50 years they've played second fiddle to the Boro. We've beaten them far more often than they've beaten us, in fact they're lucky to see a win over Boro once every 5 years on average. We've had some fantastic players coming to play for Boro, whereas Sunderland's claim to fame has been Darren Bent and Defoe. Apart from a few years after our relegation in 2008, over those 50 years we've finished higher than them. They've also seen us win a trophy. They've also watched us enjoy European football - something they're likely never to experience.
I've said this before, but the modern day mackem is as spineless as they come. Can't take banter nor a rivalry like their grandads could (who were knobs too, but who at least had a backbone).
