Some quality bands on there, not just the headliners.
Lots of bands from outside the area I want to see again - Shambolics, HYYTS, Retro Video Club, Police Car Collective, Frankie Beetlestone, Youth Sector, Venus Grrrls, Moa Moa, Swim School and plenty I've been hoping to see for the first time.
The local talent is really something these days. I remember chatting with Vic Galloway and Blaggamuffin probably 7 years ago talking about the talent in Scotland and the North East. Scotland has been quite outstanding in talent for the last decade or so in my opinion. Pound for pound it beats every other region I think. They both thought the North East was similar. I didn't. It was getting going, the building blocks were there in place and this was starting to yield rewards, but I still felt, even though it was light years better in general than in previous decades, it was still some years behind. Not so now. Look at the local talent in that line up. It means that these local small urban festivals have a real high standard from start to finish. The singer songwriter genre is obscenely good.
