Stockton Calling - Sat 16 April 2022

Not my type of music but great to see it back on.
I'm good friends with Dylan Cartlidge and he is class so if you're gonna go, go watch him!
My sisters ex boyfriend is in Moonwax to!

Lots to see but a bit Groundhog Day with some of the bands. Still even those should be good hope its a nice day. In fact some I have seen before will be must sees this time around. Also a lot I have never heard so some investigation needed. Looking forward to it. Well done to all involved for putting this together.

This is a superb line up, just of the bands I've seen before and very much want to see again, let alone those I haven't seen but want to.

I'm sure the clashfinder will break my heart once again.

Saturday 16 April 2022£31 - (14's - 17's must be accompanied by an adult)

Daylong music festival which takes over 11 of Stockton’s music venues and clubs in a day where over 80 bands will perform. The festival is about showcasing some of the best original emerging music – both home grown and from further afield – alongside some established favourites and legends

Some quality bands on there, not just the headliners.

Lots of bands from outside the area I want to see again - Shambolics, HYYTS, Retro Video Club, Police Car Collective, Frankie Beetlestone, Youth Sector, Venus Grrrls, Moa Moa, Swim School and plenty I've been hoping to see for the first time.

The local talent is really something these days. I remember chatting with Vic Galloway and Blaggamuffin probably 7 years ago talking about the talent in Scotland and the North East. Scotland has been quite outstanding in talent for the last decade or so in my opinion. Pound for pound it beats every other region I think. They both thought the North East was similar. I didn't. It was getting going, the building blocks were there in place and this was starting to yield rewards, but I still felt, even though it was light years better in general than in previous decades, it was still some years behind. Not so now. Look at the local talent in that line up. It means that these local small urban festivals have a real high standard from start to finish. The singer songwriter genre is obscenely good.

I am well past knowing who they are , but there must have been an incredible amount of time and effort putting that gig (still know the words) together.

An amazing effort, well done.

Ah, if you go to the website and click Festival Guide It's the second page.

I'm going but a bit long in the tooth to know many of the bands (though I have seen some).
If I was seeing one band, who should it be?

I asked this question a few years back and was told The Howl & The Hum...wow, what a tip that was, seen 'em 9 times now!!
