Starmer - Britain's Trump

Starmer won by default. He actually got less votes than Corbyn. He only won because the Tory vote was split by Reform and some tories defected to the Lib Dems.
That’s just conjecture , the turnout was well down because it was a foregone conclusion that Starmer was going to win.

Labour won 4 million more votes than any other party despite the Lib Dem’s and the Greens splitting the Labour vote by attracting 5 million votes between them.

He will win again in 2029.

He missed the fact that Starmer won a landslide after 14 years of the Tories and the far right running this country and it’s working class into the ground.
a landslide? hardly! the tories were driving the country into the ground. Starmer sat on his hands and stood for nothing.. I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets booted next GE

Some sort of Tory coalition as is normally the way in this country with FPTP

I wouldn’t be so sure.

Lib Dem’s will have attracted the moderate Conservatives and the Greens will have taken some socialist leaning Labour voters.

Yes, we should be campaigning / supporting proportional representation, I'll probably vote green at the next GE as Labour no longer seem so bothered about it (because they're not Labour).

No. I accidently mispoke. I did not mean that half the doctors and nurses were being made redundant. In any event its 6.5k jobs so the point remains the same.
You mean you've been pulled up on it.

Guess what, he doesn't want to get rid of the civil service like you claim either. Another careless error eh?

I don't really give a crap about your politics, if you're genuinely left wing then you're probably not far off where I am politically anyway.

I'm no particular fan of this labour Starmer and you'll find plenty of the board are the same.

But lying about what they're doing and your ridiculous sensationalist thread title (which bears no resemblance to the article you posted) has done you no favours. It's exactly what you'd expect tory or reform shills to do.

There's plenty to go at with Labour without making **** up.

Sorry.. I meant to say Starmer is great and good. New posters are bad.. like bloody rotten eggs they are.

Better. All hail the glorious leader.

He missed the fact that Starmer won a landslide after 14 years of the Tories and the far right running this country and it’s working class into the ground.

And now Labour get to spend a few years running the country and its working class into the ground.

So your opening post where you claim he is going to make "half of the NHS workforce redundant" is just an outright lie then?

Yeah that helps with your credibility.
His credibility was completely shot with his absurd Thread title.

To liken him to that megalomaniac across the channel, the arch baby liar, war monger , enemy to NATO and massive adulterer is laughable.

Saw the thread title and guessed what diatribe the OP would come out with. And yes I was correct. A complete load of utter melodramatic nonsense cooked up in his head.

Yes agree it’s all conjecture, nobody knows how millions vote or choose not to vote and the stats show that Labour won a landslide under the system we use and accept in this country with millions more votes than any other party.

I don't know how you can say that after 14 years of Tory ACTUALLY doing this
Just to remind everyone, as they get their usual free pass, that it’s nine years of the Tories actually doing it following five years of the Tories and LIBDEMS actually doing it. And, for austerity as such at least, those first five years were the worst as well.

I don't know how you can say that after 14 years of Tory ACTUALLY doing this

That doesn't surprise me in the slightest ST. You didn't see much wrong with the tories for most of that 14 years did you?

Maybe you should be more open to listening to the people who had a problem with the tories throughout that 14 years and who have a problem with Starmer now.

SKS resigned as part of the undemocratic move to oust Corbyn.. he went to great lengths to paint Labour as the party of remain..playing a large role in scuppering two general elections.
The first part of that bit is factually incorrect. Starmer didn’t resign from either of his shadow positions during Corbyn’s leadership. That’s probably how he was able to portray himself as a successor who could rise above the factionalism.

And if you suspect that this was his plan all along, and that being an incoherent mess in the way he handled his specific portfolio in relation to exiting the European Union was also part of the plan, then being factually accurate on this point probably enables you to paint him as an even more cynical chancer so you might as well get it right.

Funny how this thread has turned out - There really isn’t much about defending Starmer.
We’ve had many discussions on here about how some of us are disappointed in some of the things the new government has and is doing.

Most of this is about a disingenuous thread title using an article with little substance to defend a a personal attack on Starmer by the poster.

It’s the one dimensional, biased ‘fake news’ of the thread that people are commenting on.

I’d like to think all have common ground on that.
