I keep thinking that I am going to wake up in deckchair in the garden on a summer's day, with my mum handing me a cup of tea and realise that it was all a dream. And she will say: "No son, this is the dream, you are really living in Starmer's Britain (apologies to Monty Python).
Can you believe this article by Andrew Marr in the supposedly left wing New Statesman:

Starmer has a Trumpian vision apparently. In addition to punishing pensioners and the disabled, making half the NHS workforce redundant - he wants to get rid of the civil service and judicial review.
"And Starmer, the former public prosecutor, is not ready to confront the problem of judicial review, which makes it harder for ministers to take decisions and has had a chilling effect across Whitehall. He will get there, but not yet."
The "problem" of judicial review? Scary stuff. Apparently it would be a good thing if governments could just do what they like, even if it means breaking the law. Is it just me or are we rapidly descending into fascism.
