Been on the board 24 years, and would say 99% of the time it's top craic. Don't have to agree with everything I read, don't have to like posters. If a topic doesn't particularly interest me, I'll leave it. If I'm not in a good place, I'll come off and take a break.
The board in a lot of ways represents society's mood. Society is currently massively frustrated for a number of reasons - good and bad. The country is fecked, Brexit has split the country. Racism has come out from under its rock (it never really did go away).
Boro, the footy team, is flat at the moment. Big disconnect between the fans and the club, mental ST prices, fans can't buy kit, match day experience meh. This turns around and we push top 6 the board is a much nicer place. The professional moaners drift away, back in their boxes.
Gobshytes are everywhere, keyboard warriors, social media experts. These permeate into forums such as this, and sadly this is one of the really bad side effects of social media. People hide behind keyboards, snidey little sh*thouses who wouldn't dare say something to someone's face but are happy to type it anonymously. Dregs of society.
I've hung around on here so long because (apart from my addiction to Boro) it's a good community. I've made many good friends via this board, been sorted with loads of useful information, laughed, been sad. I'll continue to read, chip in and (generally!) enjoy loitering.
A lot of people are going through a lot of stuff which they don't want to / can't discuss on here. Life is tough for many. Really tough. Respect people and be nice
