Some not very nice chanting last night

Surprised at that from you mate. The thread is full of parents who didn't know how to explain the chanting to their young children. It's more than offensive, it's disgusting. We also have gay people as supporters and who post on here. How do you think they feel, should they just 'suck it up'?
Well, yes. They should just ignore it. If I called you a fann£ for your opinion would that mean you are in fact a part of the female anatomy? People get too offended nowadays. As for the kids, why cant you explain it to them? I have a 27 year old daughter who I took to every game from the age of about 6. When she commented I told her, they're uneducated idiots. She's grown up a well rounded person with just a bit of normal parenting.

No, but some young lad struggling to come to terms with their sexuality a boro fan.. hearing being gay being thrown around as an insult.. not so good.

I mean there's loads of things that happen that are not good that don't affect me or hurt me directly.. doesn't mean I shouldnt talk about it or say that I don't agree with it.

Do I want my club to be labelled as being homophobic? Nah Do I want boro fans to be put off coming to games because of their sexuality? Nah

I mean.. fans NOT singing town full of rent boys would not effect you or harm you in the slightest. I got the feeling last night that most fans singing it thought it was a bit naff and knocked it on the head.
I didn't say I agree with it. I don't at all but I can differentiate between idiots shouting at a match and my own life situation. Which is my point. Why would you let something chanted at a football match affect you or even feel offended by it?

Why would I mention something that I though was out of place or wasn't right?

Why would you let it bother you that I mentioned it? Are you offended by my opinion?

Not at all, are you offended by mine? I'm just commenting on a message board in reply to others, that I think we should just be less offended by things and stop worrying so much about it all. Just my opinion

don't worry about anything that doesn't effect you personally? don't stick up for anyone? don't care?

i'm not offended.. just think it's bizarre

I think you're stretching my replies a bit far there lad. I didn't say you should not care about things that don't affect you. What I'm saying is, even if it affects you, why let it? It doesn't affect who you are when you go home, it doesn't tell you who you are as a person just because some idiots chanted some pathetic song at a match. It doesn't achieve anything being all offended on a message board.

It's a stupid chant, vwell past its sell by date.
I think it's offensive because it makes the recipient think they are homophobic.

You don't have to be gay to be a male prostitute.

Which probably makes it homophobic by proxy.

It doesn't effect me.. I'm commenting on a message board. I don't think it is a good idea. You don't seem to be able to let go of the idea.. that I should not be talking about it..
as I've said I'm not offended.. having an open conversation with mostly like minded individuals.. sharing an experience and collective thought.

As for not achieving things.. well I've brought up quite a few things on here as it happens.. and some of them have taken off.. I don't want to have to brag about it.. I'm a goal orientated individual.. I do not seek the fame and fortune. Anonymous and smug is quite a comfortable place to be.. so please do not force me to be famous and brash.

Rent doesn't always have to relate to performing sexual favours for money.. not always.

Does chanting things like this really hurt anyone? Yes it may be offensive to some. But whatever you say adversary is seen by some to be offensive these days. Just suck it up and ignore it. It only becomes a problem when you take it home from the match and still feel offended. Give over acting so precious.
Wow, I can’t say I’m surprised to see this from you.

Where did I mention you not achieving anything? I think you have me mixed up with someone else.

This bit worries me also, why do you think that saying things where you think you are safe and nobody can debate a rational argument with you is a normal thing?

What the fcuk are you going on about? It’s a football message board for Middlesbrough fans.. why would that worry you?

How about.. just drop what ever bone you think you have.. go out for a walk and have a big glass of water.

Read a book, listen to some music.

It's not me getting their knickers in a twist about things that don't really matter in their life.

Please try to have a rational debate then if you think your point of view is correct and point out what I'm mistaken with?
You are using a very shallow argument. That we shouldn't be offended by words/chants intended to offend? That we shouldn't be offended unless it affects ourselves directly?

Rather a juvenile "debating position" but hey, you probably think you're being clever.

As someone else has no doubt said to you, you can't cure stupid.

Your deluded text above is what is wrong here and like Muttley says, you can’t cure stupid.

Especially stupid bigotry.
