Some not very nice chanting last night

Uncomfortable to listen to; there were lots of youngsters there with parents and it I wouldn’t like to have explained the rent boys chant to my lad at that age.

Good lord Peter.. they appear to be from a southern conurbation where their primary population are self employed in the donkey noise sector

boo hiss chaps.. wipe that gentlemen's relish from your lips and engage in the lords work.. the old heave and ho.. up the bloody burrough

It's poor to hear this, especially when our fans complain so much when Sun'lun are in town shouting their mouths off

I cringed at the rent boys chant, thankfully died out quickly and didn't restart. Went off it at a few around us who up til that point (20 mins or so?), hadn't sung once but sang that straight away..

In the North Stand it appeared to start in the area where the Twelfth Man are.
No it didn't. It was in blocks around me - more central than Twe12th Man -
It is a serious issue and must not be repeated at Stamford Bridge - there could be serious consequences.

Don't shoot the messenger Rob. I'm the first to mention it on this board. I avoided bringing it up on Tuesday night because I didn't want to spoil everyone's enjoyment and experience. It was absolutely disgusting and I'm shocked that in 2024 any Boro fan might think it appropriate. I get you want to defend a certain fan group so I'll leave it there.

I do think some of it is ignorance and youngsters joining in and not really thinking through the implications of what they are singing and thinking of it (to quote Richard Keys) as 'just banter'.

I can think of plenty of offensive chanting at the Riverside and Ayresome in the past that I joined in with as a daft youngster that was out of order (e.g the chants towards Robbie Savage, Nick Barmby, Kevin Keegan etc).

It annoys and disappoints me when fans of Liverpool chant about Munich and then when Man utd fans chant about Hillsborough, both sets of fans rightly are disgusted, but surely they should also be disgusted at their own fans for chanting such things? Same can be said for the Chelsea songs, or the ones we get.

It's moronic b***ds.

Even ignoring the fact it's homophobic and out of order, unless you live with your head in the sand, you'd know it gets clubs severely fined.

Thick bigots chant it, and they clearly can't be that big a fan of their club if they're willing to risk them getting fined just to try and goad the opposition.

It also sounds stupid when Boro fans call all the London clubs supporters Cockneys, it’s only West Ham fans and maybe Millwall who qualify. As for the “rent boy” aspect that was only ever sung against Arsenal because the Kings Cross area was pretty seedy and was classed as their manor. Although The Flying Scotsman was excused.🤪

You can tell that the fans knew it wasn't right to be singing that, it didn't take off properly and the way it died out, you could hear the embarrassment in the way that it just petered out

Came back again a bit later though with 'rent boys give us a song'.
Thankfully my boy thought they were singing 'town full of red boys' meaning Boro fans. Made no sense but I didnt correct him!

If less than 1% of the crowd are fkwits that's 300 people.
They can make a lot of noise if one of them starts a disgusting chant.
Sadly that's the way of it these days and tbh always was.

The housing crisis is not something that should be poked fun at.. we may well be amongst the lucky minority that can afford to get onto the housing ladder.. but to rub it in their faces.. we're better than that.

Also.. is Chelsea a town? More like a Metropolitan borough of the County of London..
