Sky Price Increase

Sky are increasing their prices to me by £5.50 per month (Sky Signature and Sky Sports) - this is about 11%

A bit more than my season ticket!

How do they justify this - No England Test Cricket, England International Football, Champions League and the Premiership Football is starting to go to Prime and TNT and I believe they are going to lose the FA Cup!

A lot of companies now have a fixed % plus inflation annual increase in their contracts now. Virgin is 3.9% plus inflation. There are discussions on banning it at government level but it may not happen any time soon.

Seems no test cricket full stop?
Would be good to see them show more than just one county championship game a season, surely they could get it for not much and put some much needed cash in the counties

They do have home Tests don’t they?

They justify it the same way Boro do! They want to charge more and they will continue to do so if people keep paying.

That said, I’m out of contract with Sky in June and after 15 years I’m finally kicking them in to touch. There are so many other ways to consume TV these days.

All the matches are broadcast for free on YouTube you know?

They do it every year. It winds me up that you get 'in contract' price increases. I know it's in the small print when you agree to them.

Once you've agreed a price it should stay the same for the duration of that contract. Well that's my opinion 😂

Don't get me started on Amazon Video now having adverts. One of the biggest companies in the world now wants to charge an extra £2.99 to go advert free. I hardly watch terrestrial tv due to adverts. Now fecking streaming services are getting in on the act.

I've just renewed my Virgin - all channels, inc sports (sky and TNT) and movies. 1gb broadband and unlimited landline (that we never use) for £54 a month.

I'm definitely getting mugged off then.

Paying £45 a month just for broadband and 5 Sky Sports channels (not including Sky Sports News, weirdly).
