It’s a veritable smorgasbord of British talent and a fascinating story…

theyve overlapped a true story with fictional drama with a factual backdrop with fictional elements…

got us gripped… who do we all think the spy is?

I thought it was the ex bin man from Corrie and also the wife of the guy that got killed but each time I try to second guess it, they throw in some doubt…

No spoilers - haven't watched tonight's episode yet.

And you're right about all the homegrown acting talent!

Brilliant explanation of Thatcher’s motivation behind the miners strike in Episode 4 tonight. We all knew it but great to see it laid bare in a long BBC drama. It seems the hapless and desperate Johnson is trying to mirror Thatcher’s strategy. Whilst I despised Thatcher and celebrated her death long into the night, Johnson is a silly little boy in comparison to that monster. .

Absolutely loving sherwood upto episode 5 the crossbowman in the woods is a bit farfetched but the rest is simply brilliant. Lesley manville the pick of some great actors, as a working class lady full of decency . Very funny when she was trying to explain tv quiz pointless to DCS St Clair.

Really enjoyed it. Picked the spy by the 3rd episode. Was quite an emotional ending.

Without giving away any spoilers that was brilliant and BBC Drama at its best.

Not sure how the 2nd series will pan out but if the cast, storyline and acting quality remain at the same level then it should be another cracking watch 👍

I have a thing for Lesley manville (in an admiring way) i loved her in Mum… a very under rated comedy…

Indeed, some really big names

I've just wizzed down this thread, in case of spoilers. I'm on Ep 4. Very much enjoying it and what a great cast
And the 80s miners strike Yorks/Notts thing is interesting, if true. Not something I was aware of

Yes I’m 4 episodes in really enjoying it.

Even though it’s a drama this stuff really did on under thatchers regime.

It’s incredible isn’t it how the tories destroyed towns across the land and we still don’t know the full facts and how sinister it all really was ( orgreave etc)

And yet people still vote snd elect tory govts with many of these architects of that misery now in the lords etc.

i thought it was a touch too sympathetic on the spycops almost portraying them as the victims, when by all accounts, a lot of them were narcissists who came in reaped havoc in communities, impregnated women and abandoned them destroying countless lives
